Re: Helmet question

It's no sweat. Money-wise, used is the only way to go. The only sweat will be in your new well-worn lid which just adds character.

Re: Helmets, you need to know this

Nope, no I won’t. Cause that’s "procreating" gross. You can overcome your preconceived notions. I would call wearing another guy's headgear a communion rather than procreation. Once you buy a helmet, it's yours. Try not to think of it as some other guy's. How it smells and feels is just a...

Re: Helmets, you need to know this

I can get you a bunch of old hockey equipment. Smell is similar. Lol. The stink in this lid is unique. I guess every lid has a unique stink. It is very rare to find a lid with as much sebaceous sweat as is in this one, though. The guy lived in the thing for more than five years. I never thought I'd...

Re: Helmets, you need to know this

I can get you a bunch of old hockey equipment. Smell is similar. Lol. Hockey gear can't be used when riding a motorcycle in California. Also, motorcycle helmets get much more wear than hockey gear. Guys stay in them for many thousands of hours. My Icon Alliance will always stink like the previous o...

https://www.totalmotorcycle.com/BBS/download/file.php?id=2468&sid=905a32bf1849ad8bc2154acfed1f4fc0 I wanted to write a little more about my Icon Alliance. The more I wear it, the more I learn about it. I've mentioned in the past how the previous owner of this lid never washed his hair or his fa...

Re: Advice for Riding in winking Temperatures (Video)

A used lid, a used pair of gloves, a used full leather suit, a used leather jacket, and a pair of used gloves, and a pair of used motorcycle racing boots will keep you warm.

Re: okay, questions from a student about motorcycles...

Everyone of your posts is friggin creepy dude. The in depth way you describe smelling another mans sweat makes me think of those people who would buy used undies off eBay. Enough resurrecting zombie threads to get all weird and sniffy dude. This ones over 10 years old. You’re a creeper. Given that ...

Re:

If cost is a factor you will save a ton by buying used. Also, in general sportbikes cost a lot more to insure than standards and cruisers. So you may want to consider some bikes other than a crotch rocket if you want to save some cash. No matter where you get your gear just remember do NOT get a us...

Re: 82' Yamaha XJ550 Maxim

I voted YES -- if you can get it at a much lower price (max $1000). The XJ550 would be a good starter bike to live with and learn on and you could ride it for years and still enjoy it. I can understand the high asking price ($1650 USD) as it sounds like a nicely restored collectors bike (low milage...

Re:

i disagree with the $1000 figure. you can get: jacket for $150 gloves for $50 helmet for $200 boots for $100 (you may already own some) riding pants (optional) $125 all that is only $625 and you can get most of that stuff cheaper than the prices i have listed. i wouldnt skimp on helmet, and jacket/...
