Are you in USA? They tried those cameras around here for a while but got sick of fixing them after they got smashed to peices over and over again. They even had them on the highway... not long after there were websites with exactly where they were located and before you know it they were nothing mo...

Yeah, I actually live a ways west of Huntsville, and was going west on 72, just past all the road construction they're doing.

Where'd you hear about the cameras?

Good night / Bad night

Went to see Mr. and Mrs. Smith tonight, and had a blast. Good movie, for those so inclined. On the way home, though, specifically on my way out of Huntsville, I had not one but two cars move into my 3-4 second gap, right in front of a light that at the same moment chose to turn red. Rear wheel skid,...

Le'see here.. I don't have that issue of Motorcyclist, but I do have the May '05 issue of Motorcycle Consumer News, and here is what they have to say: "... narrower ports and downsized throttle bodies... are tuned to deliver a broad torque spread (over 40 lbs/ft from 3,250-11,500 rpm) with an a...

Ran it absolutely out of gas today, not intentionally, but I did discover that while the manual says you've got a 4.8 gallon tank, you're out of gas on the side of the road at around 4.3 gallons.

I remembered after I posted, California has weird emissions laws that require extra hardware on bikes, but I think that hardware only runs about 400$ or so on Harley bikes - surely it can't be more than that for a Japanese bike.

Managed to get a postcard and a t-shirt, but I didn't have film so the camera got left at home.

Oh well, good excuse for another trip!

I didn't look seriously at the Suzukis, primarily because of price. They're a lot more expensive here than Kawasaki. Also, my last bike was a Kawasaki, and I liked it well enough to seek another. That said... They're seriously overcharging for the Z750. Kawasaki puts the retail price at 7,099$. I kn...

Took a 216 mile trip today, and moved into the 4k-6k rpm range near the end of the day. The seat is quite bearable after a lengthy haul, though the angle at which I held my legs caused some aching in my knees towards the end of my 6 hour trip (including a half hour lunch stop, two 5 minute gas stops...

First solo ride

Had a great day off from work today! Went to get tags for my new bike, and left the tag agency on my way to Alabama's Natural Bridge in Moulton county. I took about 120 miles to get there, including about 20 miles through the William B. Bankhead National Forest on highway 33 south. It started rainin...
