Hey man, sorry to hear it. I've had a couple close calls myself, and have hit a couple deer with my pickup. It shakes you up. I don't ride at dusk anymore. Deer, and many other animals are crepuscular (most active around dawn and dusk). I'll stop for a bite to eat until it gets dark, or call it a day.

Bought a 2004 Vstar 1100 Classic last April; almost 7000km on it now. Am very happy with the bike. Good city and hiway handling, ample power for my needs, no problems so far. Only complaint is numbass after an hour in the saddle. We'll see how she starts & runs next month when I pull it out of 5...
