Thanks for the feedback, this is great information. I will make a point of doing some practicing in an empty parking lot.

In a way I'm glad this happened to make me more aware of the potential for locking up the wheels.

Should the front and back brakes be applied simultaneously with equal pressure when stopping or should the front brakes get the most attention with the back brakes being secondary?

Thanks for the reply Mike. Yes, I notice this happening when I'm rolling to a stop with the clutch disengaged. Is it not good to shift down into first until the bike's stopped rolling?

Problems downshifting into first gear

I'm a new rider and I've noticed a few times that when I downshift my Suzuki Savage into first it doesn't always engage. Most of the time it does, but occasionally I have to push down twice to get it to 'click' into first. Is this something I should get looked at or be concerned about? I don't want ...
