xr250 carbs...

I am looking to find out what carb is used on a 95 xr250. I am considering a purchase, and know it needs carb work. I want to find out what the carb kits will cost prior to purchasing.

Does it use the same carb as some other bikes?

Thanks! :D

thanks. I am interested in this bike, and wonder what it would take to rebuild the carb. Shouldn't be too hard. Also, dirtbikes are fairly straight foward to tear down due to their lack of body work, so any other things that spring up will be easy to get to. What's the price, if you don't mind me a...

pre purchase advice on 83 xr500

I am trading emails with a guy who has an 83 xr500. His price seems good. This is what his last email said... "I have not taken it to a shop, but those friends of mine (one worked for a shop in his day) said is sounds like a jet/carb cleaning issue. I bought it 3 years ago, rode for one summer, then...

The mounting brackets for the Vetter may not be too bad to find, the wiring harness might be another story. You could contact Pete Venne at Venco Wings, he's about the best "Classic Wing" guy I know of. He has some parts laying around (used) from the older bikes, and is very good to deal with. I hav...

Craig Vetter

I was at the Vetter website, researching fairings, since I want to add a full fairing to Bargoyle. Anyhoo, I noticed that the email contact at the Vetter website was craig@craigvetter.com . I clicked, sent a question or two, and have recieved 3 responses already. I am impressed that this man has the...

I know there have been rumors that havent panned out, but it seems that the only thing the 'Wing doesnt have is an automatic tranny. I wonder if the cycling community would reject an auto, ya know, its not traditional, etc. I think I dont have a preference either way... Hey-Good news! Its not rainin...

Its been so long since I rode on a regular basis, I have been so distracted with so many things, I find myself not set up for slow speed turns very well. I seem not very coordinated.

Maybe we could start a naming service here on the board. Start with me! My wing is an '80. Its a 20 footer, meaning it looks good from 20 feet away. Any closer, and the flaws are more obvious... Hmmm what should I call it? Sounds like the women up here , I call them Bargoyle :D Or you could just ca...

Boneheads, boneheads

Ya see 'em every day. Today, an 18 wheeler turned into me. He was in a parking lot on the opposite (oncoming) side of the road. Due to a narrow gate he was pulling out from, he had to pull a LONG ways out, and then swing back into his lane. This was one of those times when had I not been paying atte...
