They also have a windscreen that snaps across the chin area of your helmet. Kind of a 1/4 moon shape, horizontally.

I've just thrown money at a new Shoei RF-1000 and much to my disappointment, the helmet suffers from horribly loud wind noise (on my head, at least).
Above 100km/h, the wind buffets around the base of the helmet at a deafening level. However, shrugging the shoulders cuts it out entirely.
