I'd like to offer my 2 cents worth. If the gas tank is not too deep you can use a turkey baster to suck out the remaining gas and then let the tank air dry in an open area as one of the others suggested. Using a rag will present another kind of problem, especially in an apartment. The fumes will ...

I don't know too much about motorcycles yet but some of the reading I've been doing seems to show that the Suzuki Boulevard series of machines have hydraulic valve. Not sure about others, yet.
