Thanks, Jack. It does have six cells.
Looks like I'll be investing in a multimeter soon. How much do those run?

How do I tell if my battery is 6 or 12 volts?
I just bought a used bike with a dead battery that needs to be recharged. After getting the bike, I went out and bought a one-amp trickle charger that can be switched to either 6 or 12 volts. The motorcycle manual says to use 12 volts, but I'm not sure if that's correct since the battery is not the ...

Thanks a lot, guys. That's great to hear. The seller's asking $800. Assuming that's a fair, honest price, does that mean the bike is probably in good shape? My dad knows more about mechanics than I do, so I'll probably have him come over with me to check it out. Money's tight for me right now and al...

Yamaha XS850 for a big guy?
Hi,
There's a 1980 Yamaha XS850 being advertised in my local classifieds and I'm considering heading over to look at it, but first I want to make sure it would fit me. I'm 6'5" and 255 pounds with a 36" inseam. Am I too big to ride it?

Just passed MSF basic rider course, looking for first bike
Hey, I made a post a while back saying I was worried that the MSF class wouldn't have a bike big enough to fit me, and I'm happy to say it turned out they did. Well, almost big enough. I rode a Nighthawk, which was the biggest bike they had. I bumped the handlebars against my knees during the slow, ...

Just rode for the first time, feeling a little frustrated
I'm halfway through the MSF Basic Rider Course; I've had one class in the classroom and one class out riding in the parking lot. When it came to the riding portion, I got off to a rocky start, to say the least. It looked like everyone else had had some riding practice before the class, but this was ...

Will the MSF class have a bike big enough for me?
Hi, I'm a 21-year-old guy, brand new to both motorcycles and this forum. This is my first post. I've signed up to take the MSF Basic Rider Course in a couple of weeks. It just occurred to me there could be a problem--I'm 6'5" and 250 pounds, and I don't know if they'll have a bike big enough to...
