You should definitely bump this every 9 years. You're a little early this time around... but that's ok since today is my birthday. I was 23 when I first posted this...

Check out this site. http://www.partsnmore.com/parts/honda/cb650c/?filters[fitting]=custom&filters[page]=2 Grab the fuel valve and brake rebuild kits. If you can afford another grand it would be easier to have a mechanic do this for you. If not, see if you can find a local forum and wrenching day fo...

Worry about safety. If I were you Id inventory what I need first. No way you are getting around not buying new tires. Carbs are going to need to be pulled and cleaned. Brake system rebuilt (you can try flushing fluid through it by opening the nipple as you squeeze the lever - a bottle might do it- t...

You want a petcock (fuel valve) rebuild kit. Can't hurt to do a master cylinder rebuild kit (brakes) and switch to steel braided lines at the same time.

I missed the $2k... You can buy a running Vulcan 500 inside the DC beltway for $2k. 20 years newer, better motor, great sound. Pre 85 nighthawk is... Ok but not worth $2k

So he said he has "winterized" which I'm assuming covers tank maintenance along with the proclaimed yearly oil changes. From looking down in from above it looked clean save for some slight brownish discoloration but nothing scary. Should I take some sort of carb cleaner spray with me? Could that be...

Meh- seems like the people didn't really care too much about this 4+ years ago. I doubt they will anymore today. Anything put out by Harley is a Harley. Since this thread started I added a certification to teach the Harley Davidson Riding Academy. All the dealers I've taught at, associated HOG chapt...

Re: This Week: 2015 BMW S1000XR - Vote Now
I went awesome. I loved my S1000RR and the power it gave me but hated the seating for long rides. This combines my two favorite bikes- the Strom and the S1000 into a really cool new category Adventure Sport, which I see as taking Sport Touring and making it more nimble and agile than a big heavy bik...

Re: Motorcycle Lift or jack
I've seen users bolt on custom cut out 4x4's to those atv/motorcycle lifts. It allows the wood to come into contact with the frame while missing crushable exhausts or other nonstructural parts. Great solution if you have access to saws.

I picked up my sidecar rig for a lark. It's been great for a few different reasons. Riding in winter conditions- The third wheel keeps her upright Bigger loads - Need to take a couple servers into DC but still want to take the HOV and get free parking? Want to enjoy the weather and confuse people wh...

Re: Helmet Intercoms
Brumbear , I was hoping to avoid just that situation myself . I rant , yell at stupid cage drivers , and often think out loud in general , do any systems have a kind of 'Over-ride' that prevent my incoherent , not so polite rambling from being broadcast to the entire group ? You'd be surprised what...

Almost two years ago now I got to test all the models on the market as part of building the On Street Experience course for Cape Fox Professional Services (They run the military traffic safety program for the US Navy & Marine Corps as well as the PA state program- hopefully more soon). After testing...

Sure, but on a common feature in it's class? That's like hating on a BMW because of the leather seats!

Not to mention how many bikes add gps systems or tablets that provide maps, music and caller I'd for cellphone calls. The market asks for it so why not build it into the bike? Your personal thoughts on safety don't change that.
