650 Nighthawk

ok, my buddy got his bike back from the shop, we checked the airbox, clean as a whistle. the bike runs like a charm in every gear but 5th. had it wound out in 4th, no problems, goes like a raped-ape but shift into 5th and it seems like it doesn't have the power to keep it at that speed. dealer recom...

650 nighthawk

supposedly carbs were completely cleaned, gaskets replaced, jets replaced because it was cheaper than trying to clean gunk out of old ones. it revs out fine in every other gear except 5th. they're thinking its probably the ignition modules, but they're not absolutely sure until they try it, but at t...

650 nighthawk

thanks bud, carbs redone at bike shop, cleaned, new jets, gaskets, etc. exhaust looks good, the only thing we don't know for sure is what was done to airbox besides putting in a new filter. my buddy's going to get the bike from the repair shop and we'll have a look at the airbox, etc when he gets it...

650 Honda Nighthawk

Hey guys, Question about a buddy's bike - an 82 Honda Nighthawk 650 - works great, good RPMs up to 5th gear, then its impossible to get it up past 80-85 km/hr. :frusty: carbs have been done- cleaned, new jets, new seals, new plugs, etc. the shop who did most of this work are kinda stumped. they're t...

ORK

i have the PHAT oil relo kit on my v-star, haven't had any probs since i put it on. i know some guys who have the jardine and haven't had any problems either. the one complaint i've heard of is that a lot of people tend to overtighten the hose clamp to the point of stripping it, then it doesn't tigh...

Dealers

good link there by Christina, thanks. if you're looking at importing stuff from US, specify shipping by US postal instead of using UPS which will charge you a brokerage fee. I have placed many orders from the US and other than the higher cost of shipping by some of them, i must say i've had pretty g...

after getitng my 650 classic, i looked at the 1300. I was surprised that they went to a 1300 w/ the 1100 selling relatively well. I wonder if it was meant to compete w/ the 1200 Sportsters ( higher CC). Been told by a Yamaha rep that the 1300 was thought of to narrow the spread between the 1100 to ...

cagers always say they didn't see the biker

:frusty: Sorry to hear about your misfortune, hope all goes well for ya. Dr. Bar is absolutely right about how cagers threat bikes and trucks. Doesn't matter, young or old - drunk or sober - everyone seems to be too pre-occupied with cell phones and all kinds of other distractions to worry about the...

175 km/hr

just a note on km to miles conversion
1 km = 0.6215 miles
1 mile = 1.609 km

175 km/hr = 108 miles/hr

I ride an 05 V-star 1100, mostly 2-up and no problems with highway speed all day long. The V-star doesn't seem to care, actually i think it prefers it..
