Read This Book i agree. this book was recommended to me when i was new on here last october, before i even took the MSF course. i read through the entire thing before i was even on a bike, which made understanding and getting thru the course a lot easier. i still don't have my own bike, but i ride ...

what does the MSF teach about this? when i took the MSF course in November, they taught us to only cover the clutch, but not use it unless you absolutely needed to downshift. i use the same technique when i drive my manual '86 toyota truck...however, they did emphasize that when we do quickstops to...

no one in my class here failed, but our instructor told us before the test that if we did, we could reschedule to retake for the next weekend with no charge. keep you head high man, don't give up!

my instructor told us flat out that the figure eight is not something that was gonna save our life someday, as opposed to the quick stop and swerve. so he told us that it would be graded accordingly. most my class did great on it, and yea, i think the most anyone missed for it was five points.

i know one guy in my class was doing the slow speed turns, and he grabbed the front bake thru the middle of it...he fell. that was after they told us to never use the front brake while slow turning...such as the figure eight, use only the back brake. another guy locked out his front tire on a quick ...

you know, i was thinking the same thing, about the video camera man. just kinda insulting...i mean, yea, its a good lesson for all of us, but man think about that guys family or friends....

and yea, the passenger looks really messed up too. and was that the front half of the bike imbedded in the car?

i wouldn't say scam either, because i got a lot out of it. i really think it depends on what you're feelings are going into it. a few of the guys in mine had been riding for like a year already, they were just here to get their license and do it legally. yet they still came to learn, and at the end ...

yea, check out the tires. in my MSF course i just took, they said tires like dunlop (that i think come on the harley's) have straight tread, where as others have a criss-cross or zig-zag pattern. just depends. obviously, the straight ones are going to want to follow the rain grooves.

WOOHOOO, glad to hear you're having fun, wait until they start teaching countersteering. That's the exact second I fell in love. well, i passed. we were allowed to accrue up to 20 points overall on the test (it was scored like golf...the fewer the points, the better), and i got a 5 because my quick...

First day of MSF BRC!!!

Damn what a rush!! Today was my first day actually operating a motorcycle, and although it was a little 250 Honda Rebel, it was AWESOME, to put it quite simply. It was the most fun i've ever had driving something with an engine and wheels. I think we ended up doing 4 hours of riding exercises today,...
