I am more used to $150. It is criminal what they charge for labor. They seem to rate by half-hours. It's unfortunately a necessary expense. If there is an engine problem, it will typically show itself in the break-in period. If you don't do the break-in services, they can say you voided the warranty...

It seems it would not be the color of the bike, but the colors on your back the 1%-ers are looking at. ;-)

Ninja 500-R is a great bike. Probably the best intro bike that you can ride for years. I had a ZX6-R, and still enjoy riding the 500-R. Ninja 250-R gets a lot of play around here. New styling makes it look like a super-sport. It will do 100mph with a small-ish rider. Definitely not a scooter 250cc. ...

A 600 Class Sport is a great bike. Very nimble. Fast. Remarkably more comfortable than a cruiser. You might also check out the CBR-600 (Honda, highly rated) or Ninja 6-R (Low priced, great bike in my opinion).

My 500-R gets 50mpg or so.

35mpg... You do know there are more than two gears, right ;-)

It is not a bad bike. I did not like the one we had. I commuted, and there was no place to put bags when I got stuck riding it. It handled pretty well. Won't go over 85mph, downhill with a tailwind. Shakes like crazy. Backfires a lot (which was kinda fun ;-)). I wouldn't necessarily try talking some...

Now this sounds like a problem a guy is having in the "Troubleshooting" forum. Maybe your idle is set too low, or the adjuster screw has come out? Although you have four carbs... Hmm... Is there and idle adjustment linkage between the carbs (never had to set the idle on the multi-carb bike...

My Ninja 500-R is not the happiest bike it's cold. It is hard to start, definitely needs the choke. When it gets running, the carbs can freeze up when it is wet/misty out. I missed that you mentioned getting gas through the lines. Sounds like a carb scrubbing might be in order. Also, is there a kill...

Your carbs might be clogged, or the petcock.

There's no OFF position on your petcock, is there? If so, and it is turned off, you are trying to start with no fuel. If the engine is cranking but not turning over, that is a fuel issue, most likely.

KZ750 is a triple/2-stroke, correct?

Re: thanks

...when you turn the knob the left side, it turns the screw... I am not familiar with carbed Vs. Are there two carbs on the bike or one? If there is one, it sounds like the cable is there so you adjust the idle which is placed somewhere hard to get to. The screw end probably sets the idle, so the t...
