I am running a Dunlop GT501. I really don't have but 2 options for tires on my bike and the Dunlop tread pattern looked the best of the 2.

The other option is a Bridgestone Battleax I think. I am riding a 85 Ninja 900.

I am getting 30-32 MPG on a 85' ZX-900 Ninja. Usually fill up at 160 miles but it is not quite empty. Have not pushed it to the reserve yet to see how far I can go.

I think I got lucky on this one. :D I started it up and ran an entire can of carb cleaner thru the engine and slow and mid range RPM's. It has started fairly quick and without using the PRIme on the petcock.

Thanks for all of the suggestions on this.

Ok, another question along the same line here. I finally got the gas out of the tank. Refilled with new gas and some cleaner. The bike runs great once it is started. Can run wide open choke, figured out the idle knob was not adjusted correctly. It will now idle at 1000-1500 without a problem.

Here ...

Are you refering to the plastic clip that attaches the mteal rod to the handle itself?

If that is waht you need, go to the dealer or sometimes a locksmith. That pc should be able to be pushed out from the bottom with a pair of neetle nose plyers.

Refer to the picture "C" and you will see the clip ...

I am saying riding season cause I don't have a garage, and I need to work on my bike a bit to get it running right again. It has been a bit chilly to do this outside.

Will see what we can do to get together, but I need to work on my bike before I can ride. :frusty:

Thanks for the help. I am just hoping I won't have to tear apart the carbs.

I will try to keep you posted.

Thanks!

86' gpz900r runs poorly

I recently bought a 86 gpz900r. It was stored with a full tank of fuel and don't think they put and fuel stabilizer in the tank. I have not drained the bad fuel out and put new in it yet as it is still cold here. I did go ahead and add so stabil so it would hopefully not get any worse.

I have ...
