sick Tiger

Hey guys,

I've got a problem with my Triumph Tiger (2005 model with 18,600 miles and all prescribed maintenance done by dealer) ....after filling the tank, which means a warm engine turned off for about 5 minutes, the idle is rough and the engine will quit after reving a little to get to the gas ...

I meant that if you come up on someone going 35 in a 50 mph zone and just ride along way back behind them, they won't realize they are in the way and should speed up. Then in a minute someone else comes up behind you and then they sure as hell can't pass if there are two vehicles going along at 35 ...

I've got 16,000 miles on it now and it does not appear to need another chain/sprocket set yet. I just didn't want to wait until the last minute. What I'm asking is, can I get something better with a different brand or should I just replace with stock?

Chris is right. If slow-poke (someone going less than the speed limit) doesn't see someone close behind him, how will he know that he is being a jerk slow-poke?

jfeaz,

In that case I would slow down and wave him by at the first place he could pass. If there is no place to pass at 50 mph, then when you slow down to 10 or so, he will be able to pass then for sure. Then go on about your business. He must have had real emergency to have acted like that.

This ...

What I like is when I pass someone on the right (because I gave up a long time ago with all the light flashing and tailgating crap) and they decide to speed up and try to cut me off so I can't get by. :x

It has happened about 5 times in the 6 months (7,500 miles) since I have been riding. It's ...

Triumph chain and sprocket sets

Hey guys and gals,

From the Triumph website, I can get a new chain and both sprockets for my 2005 Tiger for $189.

Is this a reasonable price?
Is the chain already cut to the appropriate size?
What tools will I need to do the job?
Would I be better off to buy some other brand?

Any comments will ...

Scan,

To answer your question about the Tiger.... about maintenance etc. All I can do is tell you what's been done to this one. It's a 2005 model that was about a year old when I bought it last October. It had 8,500 miles on it and now has 15,000.

I took it to the dealership for the 12,000 mile ...

I decided to skip all the learner stuff and went straight to what I wanted... a truimph tiger. I had never rode a motorcycle except for one that I rented in Florida at spring break. That was 25 years ago. Anyway, I have put about 6,000 miles on it since last November and am still alive. The trick is ...
