Please be very careful when you reassemble them. A friend of mine thought he was a great do it youselfer and ended up killing himself when the front end came apart while he was riding it.

Sorry, it's still fresh in my mind... :(

As a rule of thumb, if you have time to plan your crash you have time too save it. I'd have to agree... Spend less time thinking of what to do when you hit the ground and spend more time practicing how to get out of a sticky situation. If you do go down i'll happen faster than you can possibly prep...

Congrats on the bike, I also have a VTX1300R and love it. Sometimes backing it up into a space is a bit of a task, especially towards the end of the day. Never cut your bars too much, regardless of the size of the bike, it will end up on the floor. Make sure that you are wearing oil resistant boots,...

I'll park on the side walk next to the entrance of the store if it's a nice wide walk way where I'm not in anyones way. Otherwise I just park in a parknig spot, and never pull all the way up. As someone previously mentioned you're more visible this way.

Honking doesn't bother me, but once they invade my personal space and start tailgaiting, then it's a problem. Remember the one with the most lug nuts wins. A couple of options: a. Change lanes and let them pass if they are to dumb to figure it out for themselves. b. If you can't change lanes turn of...

Re: Neutral at Stoplights?

On a side note, today at a stoplight I couldn't seem to shift from neutral to 1st. I did the normal motion but it seemed stuck or something and took me several tries. Normally I just flick it with my toe, but I eventually tried using more force which didn't work either. Was the shifter jammed or so...

In the big scheme of things Marilee it really doesn't matter which "category" you think you fall in it really is all relative like someone mentioned earlier. The main thing is that you do your best to keep practicing your skills and enjoy your time on the road.

Re: difference between Vulcan Classic & Nomad

What is the difference between the Vulcan Classic & Nomad. What upgrades has Kawasaki added over the production years should a person look at if your having to buy used? They're the same bike - the Nomad is a Classic with a big windshield and hard saddlebags. Avoid the pre-'99 models unless they've...
