I've had excellent results with the Bridgestone Battlax BT-45s. They have a dual compound tread. Stickier on the sides and harder in the middle. I got excellent wear out of them. The rear lasted 12.5K miles on my Nighthawk. The front is still going with more than 14K on it. Good to hear, because th...

Need tire recommendation

I have a Kawasaki Ninja 500r with a rear tire that is worn down to 1.5mm tread depth in the middle, so I need a new one. It's 130/70-17. I want a tire that is the perfect balance between safety and longevity. I know softer tires have better grip, but wear out faster, and hard tires have less grip, b...

Relatedly, I've always wanted to be a motor officer. But recently after talking to a police officer, I've discovered that you can't wear full face helmets, and that kinda turned me off. Good luck finding a courier job. Yeah, I never got that. Cops always wear useless helmets (why wear one at all?) ...

Thanks bro. I'm actually talking with both those companies already. It does seem like motorcycle courier jobs are getting rarer.

Some jobs have healthcare that limits motorcycling and some don't. But this isn't saying you can't do it - just saying you won't be covered by your default health insurance. It is however, the bad reputation that motorcycling has rather than any reality in making it more dangerous than say... any o...

What happens if your tires blow on the road?

When is it time to change tires?

If I wait too long and a tire ruptures while I'm say, on the freeway doing 65mph, will I be in mortal danger? Will the bike just lay down, or can I just ease over to the shoulder on the blown tire?

Motorcycle courier jobs

Has anyone ever had a motorcycle courier job in the US? I live in Los Angeles, I'm in the computer field, and I'm looking for a drastic lifestyle and pace change. I want an offbeat job, and since I love to ride so much, I'm really interested in being a courier, and I already know the pay sucks. Does...

Gear bag you can leave with the bike

I want to start riding my bike to a train station and taking the train to work (instead of riding all the way to work) but I can't carry my huge load of gear on the trains with me, so I want a way to leave it with the bike without worrying so much about it being stolen. Is there some kind of "s...

How much should I pay to have a front fender painted?

I just bought a used front fender for my ninja 250r on eBay and I need to have its color changed. How much is reasonable for a body shop to charge if I take the fender in (unattached) to have it sanded, prepped, and painted?

One body shop told me $80. Is that too much?

Want to buy a Yamaha Vino 125 scooter

I want to buy this scooter for my wife, and the MSRP is $2699.

I know dealers like to go up from there, but how do I know if I'm paying too much? Should I insist on waiving the junk fees? What's a common OTD price for this scooter?

Thanks for any help.
