i can keep up with plenty of 600s gunning it from a red light. maybe not WOT but i definitely don't eat their dust or get more than a couple feet behind. some people on 600s can't even outaccelerate me..it's about how familiar you are with your bike, not how big your bike is. but then again..i am h...

i take my 05 ninja on a long ride every weekend. the first time i start it up every weekend i put on the choke for about 30 seconds or more while i put on my gear ..and throughout the day it starts up with a push of the button. so i think there may be something wrong with your bike :frusty:

yes the ninja250 just purrs along at 85-90mph...i don't think you'll want to go much faster than that anyway...at least hopefully not :| i can keep up with plenty of 600s gunning it from a red light. maybe not WOT but i definitely don't eat their dust or get more than a couple feet behind. some peop...

hm...i wear earplugs to keep the wind and loud constant engine noise out...but in stop and go traffic i like to be highly aware of my surroundings, and there's no wind/constant engine whir that bothers me. so i usually save the ear plugs for freeway or long rides that dont involve stop and go traffi...

i usually always wear earplugs..yesterday i took a quick ride without them and boy was the wind bothering me. the wind noise was very distracting, not a peaceful ride at all. once u get earplugs you'll never go back!!

you want to make sure your gear fits TIGHT and SNUG. also remember that leather will eventually get looser the more you wear it, so if you think a size is too small, it probably isn't..as long as you can fit in it.

gear is expensive and eventually you'll want to upgrade and all :)

good luck!

i like waving! it makes me feel special and all warm and fuzzy inside  on mountain/twisty rides if i see other groups of bikers in gear then it's almost a given to wave to each other. also usually if my group leader and their group leader wave to each other, everyone following along behind ...

haha sweet bags diez!! i just ordered some flush mount signals for my 250..the blinkers also come in clear or smoked amber but since my bike is blue/orange i figured the smoked amber goes well with the orange on the bike...clear would be too light i think. also i got the flush mounts partly out of l...

my backyard is reallly really small and getting in and out of it with tight u turns (with half of the backyard being grass) is very very annoying. once i dropped it and for the life of me could not pick it up! i even tried using that butt to seat method and i couldn't get a good grip from the side. ...

i've abused my ninja 250 a lot...i'm only 5'5'' and it's really hard for me to balance the bike esp when i can't flatfoot it or am trying to manuever with it walking it around or whatever...i've dropped it a lot of times not really from stupid things like not putting the kickstand down or anything, ...

Haha, I wasn't asking if i should tip everywhere , just at full service gas stations, because i'm not sure how they work (aka if they make the same hourly wage or expect to be tipped, as loonette mentioned). I mean even if you were in your car and they filled it up for you, is it customary to tip? B...

tipping at full service gas station?

Hey guys,

The closest gas station by my apartment is a full service station. However I always fill up my own gas. So do I still have to tip the attendant? What do you guys do?

  :roll2: i just got the cheap $3.99 for a pack of 20 earplugs at RiteAid and they worked just fine. ditto..5'5'' here on a ninja 250 and i could only tiptoe it before i got my boots which added another inch or so.

the hard part definitely is powerwalking it when you're trying to park/manuever it in a very small backyard like the one of the apartment i live in...it's a beast :x

I usually make sure I refuel before the gauge hits 250 miles. Having said that, one day my hubby (who weighs 250lbs - twice as much as me) decided to take my bike to work, which is 50 freeway miles out of town. The bike hauled him and all his work gear (probably another 50lbs) out there and back at...

I got to reserve after 220-240 miles of riding, 95% of which were on the freeway at 85mph. Then I filled up the tank and it was 4 gallons on the gas pump (am I filling it up wrong or something? where does the extra 0.8 gallon go?!) so i was getting about 50-55mpg...usually when i go on a long trip i...
