I've got an 03 650 custom and it handles everthing I throw at it. IMO unless you really have a need for the extra horse power the 650 is a great bike. I use mine for daily commute about 30 miles round trip both on and off the highway, no problems. I have yet to take it out for any very long road ...

cant vouch for the height issue, but I am 5'11" (245...ish) whos counting anyway.

Anyway... the point is my 03 Vstar 650 custom handles my weight and height without any hesitation and rides at 75 on the highway quite confortably.

Looking for any info from anyone that has upgraded a Vstar using either a big air kit or a hypercharger...
