Named my motorcycle Gertrude. Then, depending on my cleaning tendencies, she would be either "Purty Gerty" or "Dirty Gerty".
After the upcoming re-build, I'll probably come up with a different name, though.

I've got an 82 750T and loved it when it was running! (stupid carbs!) You can find out more than you ever wanted to know about the GSs over at the GS Resources.

rent a motocycle in Ireland
My wife and I are planning on visiting Ireland during the spring semester for a study-abroad trip. I am of the opinion that we would do better to visit over the summer. Much less paperwork and headache to contend with. Anywho... my question is this. Is there a good place to rent a motorcycle from wh...

How do I get the most money out of my motorcycle?
I purchased my GS with the plan of riding all winter and summer, and then using it as my only transportation during the next 4+ years of school that I have before me. Well, she broke down and it took me about 8 months to get her almost rideable again. With only about 3 weeks before I move into the d...

She's not back together yet, but we've made some definate forward progress! I must admit, I hate some old gasket material! Finally got it all removed, though, and got the new o-rings in place. I highly recommend that you follow the book's advice and get the inner pistons into the cyls before the out...

Wow, it's been awhile since I've been here!
I don't know that there is anything more frustrating than having my bike in pieces and watching everyone else out riding. Except for having to wait a month to get my final parts in, especially when it was only supposed to be a couple of weeks. But I got the cyls honed and returned. The o-rings and t...
