Well it took me 3 tries but I did pass the MSF Basic course. Got my license today. I don't think riding a 50cc would have helped. I was having more trouble *practicing* on little bikes than just riding my own. The bikes in our course were junk - literally and I spent more time trying to keep them ru...

Hey all, figured I'd post an update to this. I don't like to leave things undone, so I took the MSF BRC course one more time this weekend. This makes the 3rd attempt for those that lost count. I got a Kawaski Eliminator 125cc - same bike I had for the first attempt. I managed a clean u-turn, clean s...

Do you smell gas?
Ok this might sound strange but since I started riding - I smell gas all the time! I mean the gasoline type not the bad burrito kind. I smell it at my house, friends houses, nice restaurants - you name it. I've tried the obvious things like taking a shower and washing my clothes :) But I still smell...

Hi all! I loved reading over this thread and well the ladies section in general makes for some great reading. I'm barely 4'11 with about a 25 inch inseam. I never thought I could ride a motorcycle until I pulled up next to a tiny asian lady riding a harley at a stop light - she couldn't have been mo...

Wait till next time they offer classes you say? FAHGEDDABOUDIT Even if you teach yourself you'll still get something out of the MSF course. There were guys in my class that had been riding for 5-8 years that learned they weren't doing something the best way. Schedule a slot as soon as you can - and...

Moving to Belgium
Ok, in a few months I'm going to be moving to Belgium and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what riding is like there. The few people I've talked with said it's a nightmare to drive let alone ride a motorcycle - but I'm thinking there's got to be some cool places.

Yeah, I have my permit from DMV - I've been riding all over on that alone. I've put 150 miles on my bike in the week or so that I've had it and spent countless hours in a parking lot practicing tight turns, swerves, and fast stops. As for the MSF course - I used my one time retake for free voucher. ...
