The main thing when you switch your license over is to stress to them that "YES you do want to keep your MC endorsement". They have a habit of not keeping it when you update your license and then you have to retake the written test.

When I moved to TX, I had to take the written test. I also had to ...

I took my course first as I had never ridden before. Settled on the VS800 (became the C50). Got it yesterday and am loving it. The concern most will raise is the size, hp and weight but it's great for me (6'3 and a bunch o' pounds  ) and I can handle the weight so far with no problems.

Same here, last weekend we were doing sharp corners from both sides in a staggered pattern (left, right, left) and I was coming in from the left turn side to go back up the middle when I saw another rider coming from the right turn side right at me. Somehow our stagger got out of sync and I panicked ...

one caution for you is to make sure you practice on whatever you get before you take it out onto the streets for the first time. As a first bike a 750-800 still has enough power in first gear to get you into trouble faster than the bikes at the MSF. Definitely, I have a vacant parking lot around ...

(Another) question about bikes for a new rider.

I'm taking my MSF this weekend and will start the "sit and test and try to test drive" bike process on my week off next week. Currently, I'm partial to the Suzuki Volusia VS800 and will be testing that one first as there are three for sale in my area at a dealership. However I also came across an ...

Would this REALLY cause a bike to drop? Why and How?

Not putting a board ('foot')under the kickstand on asphalt on a hot day.

I'm in your boat, new rider and taking my MSF this weekend (Sat and Sun). I've been researching bikes for about three weeks. I've decided on a used bike, and something in the 650-900cc range as a solid and dependable starter bike. After reviewing multiple sites for information, doing research on ...

Came across an '01 Shadow Ace 750 today. 12k mileage and a beaut of a bike (maroon with white). It's a bit smaller (size and hp) than the Volusia 800's I'm looking at (for) although I think it's minimal at worst and I'm not real worried about that for my first bike. More interested in maintenance ...

Well, hadn't even noticed that  , but I wasn't looking all that close. I believe that shop specialized in "repaired" bikes so that may just be an uninstalled part at this time. Just a guess. But 1800 is way to big for me to get started on. Scratch it off the list for sure.

Any info on a 2004 HONDA VN 800 C4

Saw a used one today online and it looks like a nice cruiser/touring style bike. However, I can't find it on the Honda site, or a cycle comparison site. The model number doesn't show up.

Here's the link if a look at the bike would help:
