SV650's are popular track bikes, if that means anything. They have kind of a cult following. GS500's, not so much. I'm sure you'd have a good time on either.

I went to the hunting clothes section at Dick's and found a rain jacket and rain pants for about 20 bucks a piece. The stuff is called "Hydroproof" and I have worn it in heavy rains with good results. Fairly cheap too.

Don't accidentally look at golf rainsuits. Anything in the golf section is ...

With that said... If you die doing something incredibly stupid, you are licensing the living to mock you.

I recommend Motorcycle Consumer News. No-nonsense reviews, excellent riding tips in every issue, and a general no BS attitude. Very few if any ads also.

Cruiser riders generally don't wear helmets in NE Ohio where I live. I would say about 50 - 60% of the standard/sportbike riders wear one.

I was out riding today when it was around 85 degrees, and I saw tons of people riding in tank-tops and t-shirts with no helmet. Usually wearing sneakers too ...

This is exactly what I plan to do. A.D. Farrow is who I'm going through. I'll have to take off work to do it, but it's worth it (as is a mini vacation :D) My only problem now is the fact that Buell's look like they're sport bikes...and I'm going to be buying and actively using cruisers...not sure ...

You're welcome. The hamburger festival is kinda goofy, but there are some truly good burgers there and it's a good time.

Yet another lady joining up, and just popped in to say hi :)

Don't have a bike yet, I got bit by the BUG early last year and unfortunately in Ohio you have to sign up for the Motorcycle riding Course like a year in advance....literally....and I missed it :(

BUT

I want to ride SO BAD ...
