Just a thought, but I made my own out of an old t-shirt. Just cut a square out of the front of it, should be right about the size you need to tie a bandana out of it.

I took a yellow jacket up the nose at about 50mph the other day... stung me right in the cartilage that runs up the middle of your nose. I nailed the brakes and ducked in the closest parking lot, stripped off my helmet and blew snot rockets until I got him out (albeit in multiple pieces). Couldn't b...

This is a trick I've used on cars and it's worked, not sure how it'd transfer to bikes but I'll share it anyway. We always used water to remove carbon from an engine. Don't panic, not a lot... just fill a small cup (we usually used a cap from a can of spray paint/cleaner/etc. and use a vacuum line t...

Caught an amazingly lucky break... decided to replace the plugs (all four looked normal except for the one cylinder that was missing having some residual fuel on it) as a first step to troubleshooting. The plug from the bad cylinder basically fell apart in my hands. The threaded tip that the plug wi...

On a 13 year old bike? I'd believe that . If the wires are not molded into the coils, it should be an easy fix. XS They are. :( Accel makes an upgraded universal coil set I'm thinking about going with, rather than the stock Yamaha units, for the simple fact that the Accel wires aren't integrated in...

Well, I believe I've found my problem. We started by checking the plug wires, and pulling off the wire on the #4 (leftmost looking at the front of the bike) cylinder was causing the wire itself to arc (along the insulated portion of the connector) to the head. I'm thinking the wires are bad. Any rea...

'93 Yamaha Seca II running issues

I've had this bike about a month and a half, and everything has been peachy until about a week ago. The bike has started missing under acceleration, and now has gotten to the point where anything above ~5% throttle is causing it to sound and ride like it's running on two cylinders. Sometimes it clea...

Mine actually just happened tonight. I was sitting in a turn lane waiting to turn left on a two-lane road (with the turn lane in the middle). The turn is in the middle of a big sweeping uphill right-hander. I'm sitting pretty much dead in the center, maybe a little left of center of the turn lane wa...
