My VTR1000 is a pig on gas, that said the only time i carry MSR 1 ltr gas bottle in the tank bag is when im riding with friends and i know there range is longer. Ive only used it twice so tbh just plan accordingly.

i use valvoline regular 10W40 in Canada ON, imho i believe that regular oil and filter changes are more important than synthetic use. i change every 4 months or 2k whichever comes first. PPl may argue that with synthetic oil will last longer (i agree) is the filter at maximum efficiency after that ...
