Re: Covering ones bike

Hey folks, what is the wisdom and tidbits of knowledge yall could impart on me about covering your bike at the end of the day. I have no garage and sometimes my room mate is entitled to park in the covered carport. I have a nice enough cover for my scoot but does it need to be applied every evening...

Re: Wind Noise = deal breaker

I've tried a big windshield and that is effective if I hunch down behind it - but hunched posture is miserable for long trips... Cut the windshield down to get 'clean air' on my helmet - worse. Was thinking about this some more. Are you sure the cut-down windshield was putting your head in clean ai...

Re: Wind Noise = deal breaker

Thanx everybody for your replies ( I'm the OP). I'm using a full face - Bell Star II , a polycarbonate helmet iirc. http://www.thebellstore.com/Helmets/star2.html My ride is a Suzi gs500. Added a Plexifaring II . Been using the E.A.R. foam earplugs. And lately the 'Hearos' from walmart. Wind noise i...

Wind Noise = deal breaker

Thing I hate most about motorcycling is wind noise - around town not so much of a factor, but on longer trips wind noise just destroys the experience. Ear plugs do little good although effective for light planes, power tools, lawnmowers, shooting range, hammering on an anvil etc, but my gosh the noi...

Re: You all be careful out there

Prayers are with you, dude.

Be careful with the pain pills, they can cause a serious situation of constipation. I am not joking. Plenty of water might help if it happens to you.

Wow, the PC crowd really do get the knickers in a knot when their world view is challenged.

LMAO !

MadMagazine expressed a valid point.

And things are going swimmingly in Zimbabwe too, I hear.

I paid $ 1000 for a 95 gs , about 2 yrs ago. It was in decent mechanical/running condition but a bit rough cosmetically - had been dropped, possibly stunted, and didn't have the oem bars. Seller was asking 1300. But it's been a very good bike - no problems so far. I did look at a cherry condition gs...

I realize this thread is couple weeks old, but my experience with windshield for anyone else interested : I ride a Suzi gs 500 - small light standard bike. Never been too badly bothered by crosswinds, but with the windshield seems like the bike cuts through the air more cleanly, noticeably less thro...

Helmet mirror ???

One of the things I don't like about mc'ing is the lack of vision to the rear. Even though I installed bar end mirrors it still takes a fair amount of neck twist to thoroughly check the 6 o'clock. I want a helmet with an integral mirror. Is that too much to ask? I found this : http://www.reevu.com/i...

I've watched about 10 mins of it - nostalgic (?) look at mc'ing 1971 - Steve Mcqueen narrates. Decent.

I bought cheapo bicycle convex mirrors at kmart - a little modification and they work pretty good. But since i want to get rid of the antler oem mirrors on my gs 500 suzuki, i ordered napolean bar end mirrors from bike bandit . com. Haven't put them on yet, but they seem high quality (made in japan)...

Shortly after I finished the MSF course I found a very good condition used bike at a very low price - guy just wanted to be rid of it. But it was almost 100 miles from my home. I seriously considered riding it home, decided not to, and kicked myself afterwards for missing out on a very good deal. Iv...

Re: I'm an official member of the "ran out of gas club

Ran out of gas today on a bridge no less. It wasn't fun pushing 500lbs uphill. I think some people thought I was gonna jump. I was about ready to throw the dam bike into the river tho. Lesson learned. How many more people are members of this club? Oh and anyone that saw some crazy donkey pushing a ...
