Well Im cosistent if nothing else in my results, finishing 10th overall in the MX1 beginner class and 5th in the ladies class. Brooks track prep was awsome, with some new improved obsticals. One was the improved rhythm section, which I almost got the hang of, but the talk of the track was the intimi...

Have I lost my mind?

Well the first race of the season is over and boy the nerves got to me or maybe it was more because I ended up riding the 450 in both classes instead of just the one as I had intended. I had done a practice on both the 250 and the 450 and the 250 was way off in the suspension, I had loaned the bike ...

Not paying attention leads to all other possible mistakes, that along with being tired which could also be not paying attention.

I use to use chang chin nobbies on a 77 gs400 and they where good in the winter but in the summer they would wear down pretty fast, but also slide a fair bit, which went well with the lack of brakes on the bike.

What brand of tires do you use?

I know that tire selection is key in racing and riding in the dirt so what brand of tires do you use? How long do they last hour wise? What terrain are you using them in? I have been using the Dunlops for the last few years and thought they have held up pretty good, but had gotten a new bike that ca...

Honda has a 150 out that in the big wheel or small wheel version. Its as good as riding a dirt bike because it is a dirt bike you can hit the jumps and rail the burms on it. If I was a bit shorter I would have bought one, but any dirt bike can be lowered or you can shave the seat foam, depends on ho...

I think anything on the lines of the DR400 for a newbie is the best way to go for the enduro bike. Not a bad bike all the way around for a beginner/ novice rider.

Re: How much are you will to spend on a helmet at a event

How much are you will to spend on a new DOT appoved helmet at a event? Mfg warranty and any return fitment issues while event is going on. At current time I dont spend much on a helmet as its impossible to find a helmet that fits and its not worth the manufacters time to make smaller fitting helmet...

Ladies gear is already to go for the female dirt biker. Not a who lot of training is required either. There are course that can be taken. If you already know how to ride, you can just ask others what the differences are. One big difference is you dont lean into corners like you do on a street bike.

Its hard to say if he will grow out of a bike in a year or not depending on how confident he ends up being on it and how much he grows in the next year. If he has never ridden, he will most likely want to be able to touch the ground, but it is also a good age to get started with a bike that is a bit...
