Re: Beginner with a V-star 1100cc !!!!

Has she taken the MSF course? Does she have the motorcycle license endorsement? The fact that she doesn't even know that the bike "has gears to shift" is pretty telling and not a good sign - she sounds like she is completely uninformed. I would have suggested a much smaller and lighter bik...

 - yea I know "premature" bike lust well! I have read nothing but good things about the R1200R and am looking forward to the day when I am experienced enough to upgrade - I am on the cautious side of upgrading. Especially since the R1200R is going to be nothing like the F650GS. R...

I love my Rockster. But I must say that after test riding an R1200R. I was smitten. Such a sexy bike. And I LOVE the pearly silver/gray that it was introduced in. P That is the color I want - it makes me all.... :heat:. Have you posted your impressions of the R1200R somewhere? I would love to read ...

Yup. You are correct. Two up will not happen for a long while, most likely next year. The suggestion they gave at the MSF was strapping a 5 gallon jug/bottle/drum on the pillion and filling in with water up to 2/3 and practice like that for awhile BEFORE getting a second person on the bike. :laughi...

Congrats! Women are all about accessories..you should have known! Um, I am assuming you won't go two up until each of you (especially the one who is in control of the bike (not pillion)) get some experience riding? Going two up with two inexperienced riders is a *VERY BAD IDEA* (said in m...

Grass/uneven dirt surfaces is probably one of the *worst* places to try and learn to ride - unless you have a little light weight dirt bike which is intended to be ridden on dirt (with the proper tires, etc.). You would be much better getting yourself on concrete/pavement - i.e., the parking lot. Ca...
