pkb, what's up with that? I thought you were digging the S40..... ??[/quote] I still am! Just thinkin' in retrospect that the extra weight would have been a non-issue, and really liked the water cooling and twin cylinder config. BUT, I didn't get a chance to put 150 miles on a Vulcan. I wouldn't tra...

63, eh? Well I'm only 51, but I can tell you this........ In 1971, my legs were partially paralyzed thanks to a bout of viral encephalitis, and I was told that I would probably never walk again. I politely informed the neurologist that he was wrong, and three months later, I proved it. I never regai...

Hey Gio! And welcome! Your situation is one of the few that I am qualified to offer input on. I'm new to street bikes, myself. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Yamaha TW200 as a very reliable, agile, lightweight machine. I bought a well used (and abused) 1986 TW200 from (my wife's) brother-in-law ...

Tons of fun? Believe it. The S in S40 stands for "Sweet". A bit more vibration than a V-Twin, yes. But she is light and responsive and capable of more speed than I'll ever give her. We went for a 30 mile stroll on some county asphalt yesterday evening and (1)I didn't manage to kill myself,...

Greetings, Sylvia, from one tricycle squid to another!! I won't attempt to advise, as I have no credentials myself. What part of the great state of Ga. do you call home?? By the way, I LOVE your car.

Well, today I did the deed. Brought home a brand new Suzuki S40. Then rode it a grand total of 1/4 mile down the dirt road I live on. I made the right choice, apparently. The old legs were able to back the machine up on an uphill grade in order to complete my turnaround. The extra 90 lb. of the Kawa...

My thanks to everyone for your replies. When I speak of 90 degree temps, I mean daylight until 10am, then 7pm until dark. I know exactly what you mean, Mr. Kingfish. Central Ga. has been baking in the 100s with 110 or higher heat indexes for so long, that 90s represent a cold front.

Greetings From Ga. (and by the way, HELLLLLLLPPPPPPPPP)

First, let me say that this forum is a fantastic thing! I've been dirt road riding on a TW200 longer than I have owned a computer, so bear with me, please. I have some physical limitations in my old age, namely neuropathy in the legs. I am determined to own a street bike, but weight is a strong cons...
