Gash in Tire

I was looking over my bike yesterday and saw this gash in my tire. The tire only has 3800 miles on it and is the stock tire on a 2009 Kawasaki er-6n. Can anyone tell if this looks just cosmetic or should I be more concerned? Should I be replacing the otherwise good tire? http://www.flickr.com/photos...

Re: Beginner Stories and Emotionally compromised

I am surprised they had you taking lessons on the Bandit 600cc. I was in Amsterdam last month and it seemed that everyone rode scooters and there were very few 600cc+ bikes available. Is it different in other parts of the Netherlands? Do you have the option to get a scooter? It might help build up s...

That sounds terrifying, blues. I am not sure I would think to check the kill switch if my bike died while flying down the highway!

Do you mean in an emergency or overall? I use my "kill switch" to shut the bike off every night.

Gerbings and a Battery Tender

Hello all! I'm trying to figure out the best way to have both my gerbing heated gear and Battery tender quick connect hooked up to my bike at once. Can I have two harnesses attached to the battery posts at the same time? Is this safe? My current solution was to attach the Gerbings harness and then u...

Lots of sound advice from the folks above about relaxing in the wind and trusting your bike. The biggest thing I wanted to say is maybe you're not ready to ride with these friends. If they are pushing you to ride beyond your skill level they're setting you up for an accident. Go find some parking lo...

You know what they say about free bikes being the most expensive. If you're spending under 2k expect to shell out more money as things start to break.

Mmmm, I've got my eye on the 696. I looks like it will have the lowest seat height and lowest weight of any of the sport standards in that class. Just what I need...

I must say though, I'm not crazy about navigating rush hour/bumper to bumper traffic in the dark.

1 - The 2008 250's MSRP was raised to $3499 USD.
2 - He is in Canada so the MSRP likely even more.

For me it's all about the windproof outer layer. I was up to 4 layers on top and freezing on my commute earlier in the month when it was still in the 40s. Friday I switched out the top two layers for my fancy ski jacket and I was fine riding in to work at 31 degrees. I do also wear the electric glov...
