ANDS!, what kind of camera did you use for those pictures?
Nikon D80 with a 50MM f/1.8D lens. The b&w mode on it is fantastic, minimal level adjustment in PS. So much better (in usability) than my old D50. Takes the same kind of pictures, just slightly larger.

I've got a '94 Katana which is mostly identical to yours. As was said, the oil light will come on when the ignition is on and bike is off, and it reads pressure. Assuming everything else is right, it will go off when the bike starts.
