I think that the SV would have been worse for touring, just because of the roughness of the engine and the strange riding position. Keep in mind that they only had the SV650 S which has a very different position then the SV650 which I might go try to ride. Just to be sure it wasnt just the position ...

Well to get back on topic I went and tested out a few bikes. I pretty much hated the SV. It was a S, so I wont comment on the ride position (which sucked), but i did not like the roughness of the bike. It sounded brutal, had a lot of vibration from the engine, and i did not enjoy the throttle roll o...

Something else I realized about my decision was the fact that I will probably start taking my girlfriend along for rides. She weighs about 140 and myself about 155 so although not heavy I think a 650 may not be enough for me to feel comfortable. Someone mentioned a VFR on here, that is a interesting...

Speed limit is 70MPH so 80MPH is relativley not all that out of line. I was referring to the freeway in suburban areas such as the stretch on I-90 to North Bend so I dont think my comment about that is anything out of the normal. I personally dont feel safe going the speed limit on a motorcycle if e...

Not sure what bike to get
I took my MSF 3 years ago and bought a Ninja 500. I had ridden motorcycles before (dirt, trail, and some road). I rode the bike in the city, Seattle, and very little on the freeway. It was used and I never felt comfertable on the freeway at speeds at around 80 to 100 mph (people drive fast here). I ...

I applied for a $3500 36 month loan from the bank and they gave me a 13.5 apr. At CycleBarn i was cleared for the $49 a month for 24 months then 9.9% for 36 months on t...

Hey fellow Seattleite!!! I was in the same boat as you a few weeks ago. What dealer you looking at? I am a Junior in college and have a credit card, which i pay off in full everymonth. I qualified for the special financing, the guy told me pretty much anyone can. HOWEVER. I ended up realizing that i...

Correcting a highside
So I am new to street riding. Been riding dirt for forever i guess. On dirt if the rear end looses traction you either gun it to slip it around, or just ride it out. No problem there. The situation i ask about is gravel on pavement. If your rear tire from slippige in gravel, oil, wet or whatever sha...

And i might like to add that i would not be driving this bike all of the time, because i know how prone i would be to death. I was planning on getting something like a Ninja 500 or something that i could drive most of the time to broaden my ability. This thread started off so wrong with you saying ...
