I just today finished rebuilding the engine on my 81 yamaha 550. I had a clymer's manual, and got all my parts from bikebandit.com. Local machine shop did the work on my cylinders, and the rest just took a little time and patience, but was overall pretty straight forward. :)

If that doesn't work, you can always us a drill slightly larger than the bolt, and then re-thread the hole. I've had to do that several times on some of my older bikes.

possible fork problem

my nephew accidentally backed straight into my 01 suzuki bandit 1200 over the weekend pushing it back about 18 inches :furious: (thankfully, it dodn't fall over!) At first, I thought he only cracked the front fender, but once I started riding, I noticed the front brakes were rubbing, when I know for...

so I finally picked it up today. First impressions are really good. However, I was reading through the manual ( I was really bored), and they recommend running premium (>91) fuel! I don't even run that in my bikes

New truck

So I sold my truck on friday. was a little bare bones 95 nissan pickup that I've had for six years without ever replacing any non consumables, and finally decided to sell mostly due to body rust. I picked out an 07 frontier fully loaded, and yet, all I can think about is that I'm losing my truck. It...

muahahahaha! I brought this from the depths of the depths  Actually I'm fishing around the 'net and I've seen this before. I hate that it's ~$277 but, it's pretty much the only thing on the market that does all that. Dakota digital with not even half the features are charging $400+. I wou...

I forget exactly what it's made out of, but it attaches to a dremel, and is designed for silver jewelry. It does an excellent job of taking the rust off without scratching the chrome :) Found it at sears

rust on chrome

I've got an old bike (67 honda s90) that I'm trying to restore. It's in pretty good shape, but there is some spot rusting on the chrome parts (rim, tank, exhaust, etc) The rust comes off easy enough with a soft wire brush, but is there some way that I can keep the rust from coming back without re-ch...
