Re: Compare 3 Starter Bikes To Determine The Best Buy

For the type of riding you are planning, I would say the little 250 is ideal. You will be surprised how much power it actually has and the fun factor is high on that bike. I've know a couple of riders who planned to start out on the Ninja 250, ride for a year and then upgrade to a bigger bike.....t...

Compare 3 Starter Bikes To Determine The Best Buy

Hello all! So, I joined the forum back in '06. I was fresh out of college, living in NYC and saving up for a bike. That never happened. Fast forward 6 years and now I live in Hawaii, and I just got my motorcycle permit! I'm signed up for the MSF course for the weekend of Aug 10th. So, It's time for ...

congratulations on your bike! I must say, I am very jealous. I just graduated college and am in the "real world" working, so I don't have close to enough money saved yet to buy my first bike. Is this your first? I've been reading how the sv650s is a "gray area" choice for a first...

Please don't let the following question distract from the above question. Can someone point me to a website that details the differences between all the (apparent) types of sport bikes (RR bikes, streetfighter, cafe racer, sport touring, supersport touring, supersport, superbike, etc.)? I want to LE...

wow... come back to my thread today and see its doubled in size! Except, all that new discussion is about what technically is/is not a sport bike, which actually has very little to do with the heart of my original questions. Someone done hijacked my thread! :P And Ninja79, are you talking African, o...

Yeah, good luck finding one. I ended up buying SV650S because used ninja 500's are so hard to come by. Are you happy with the SV650? I take it from your wording that you would you have preferred to get the ninja 500 if you could at the time... what about now, in hindsight. If you could go back in t...

All this talk about motorcycles... I want one so badly! I wish I had a friend here in NYC who had some so I could play around on it. Oh well... since I just graduated college and started my career, and since NYC is so expense, its gonna be a while until I can afford one.

Okay, I got two new questions (and please, if anyone wants to add to the multitude of other questions I've asked, please do!): 1) I've been reading that if you're buying a used bike, try to get one that is 2-4 years old, as that is a plateau of value stability where you'll pay less than new, but you...

Wow, thanks so much for all your help! I'm not new to forum communities in general (I'm a computer tech), and I am glad to see that this one is no different. Honest, knowledgeable advice mixed with courtesy and respect. I found this article that might be helpful for those who are trying to decide be...
