Also sat on the Shadow VLX and the Yamaha V-STAR650 (custom) From pictures i thought i liked the V-STAR better, but up-close the Shadow grabbed my attention, and wh...

Re: Shaft drive vs chain

I don't see the advantages of each of these...Except shaft drive dosen't have to be adjusted and changed... Might wanna consider belt drive as well. 883 Sportster, Buell Blast, BMW F650CS are some of the entry-level bikes that have belt drive. Almost as low-maintenance as a shaft drive bike. I've a...

And you've never had any leaks or problems??

I would NOT advise the C50 for a beginners bike, wayyy to heavy, and might be a little to powerfull. I'm sure its not forgiving.
Try sitting on the Boulevard S40 and Yamaha V-STAR 650

First off- I hope you mean the KLR650 not the KLR600 And the XR650- not the XR600 The XR600 was a beast of a bike, would be a little much for a new rider. I would try the new Yamaha WR250R Fuel injected, 30HP. EDIT- Heres the TMW link to the WR250R http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2008models/20...

Today i helped a buddy get his bike back from the shop. The reason his bike was in the shop was about 3 months ago, jordan (my buddy) was on his DR650 going down the turnpike, as he was going through an intersection, a driver with a suspended license, ran the redlight and clipped Jordan. Jordan was ...

I have the eliminator...it's not as slow as you people would think. The only thing that will kill ya on it is if you are really tall or big, it will get kinda cramped. The MSF i took had a Rebel, a GZ250, and a Rebel. I, of course, rode the Eliminator in the MSF. My bike gets about 80 MPG, and i've ...

Have you even tried sitting on a Ninja 250? The might look uncormfortable but they're considered more of a "standard" then Sport... If ALL you care about is saving money and MPG, look at my bike. 125cc ... 12HP 80MPG i'm about 5'7" and i think im about to be to big for it, so i'd say you'd be too ta...

Try practicing in the grass. Because the soft ground makes it harder for the bike to start rolling which makes you better with the clutch/throttle thing, also if you drop it the scratches wont be as deep when my brother frist tried riding my bike I made him start in the grass, he stalled several ti...

So, you want a 120+ HP bike for your first bike..?
If i was you I would get something like a Ninja 500 or 650R
Keep it for 6 months, THEN step up to the big dogs like a R6
Or just buy a 599 hornet, or an Fz6, or Bandit 650..
