Re: help me find a new bike.

That sporty appears to have forward foot controls and low handle bars. Probably drag bars. Some sportsters come with forward controls stock i think but the drag bars are probably aftermarket.

Re: W.T.F. Were They Thinking? (Motorcycle Designers/Enginee

My srx 250 is a single cylinder engine with a primary carb and a secondary carb. The primary is a perfectly normal carb. The secondary is some weird thing that has no float bowl. Its basically one big jet and a slide. Why they did this? I have no idea. If they needed a bit mor gas flow they should h...

I've seen a surge in small cc Japanese bikes from the 80's round here. No pics to show for it though.

Wrider, I hope this one works out for you you slacker.

I went fly fishing for bluegills today. It's the first time I've ever caught anything on flies that I tied. :kicking:
Caught seven in about two hours.

Re: The World on Two Wheels (a DMV Messiah Blog)

Just wanted to reiterate learning about countersteering. Once I figured that out a whole new world of cornering smoothness opened up to me. I was fighting the bike before I learned countersteering. I would just try to lean the bike with my weight but I was fighting the handle bars with my arms. Once...

Re: The thread before what did you do today

Yeah we all know about it. I seriously doubt anyone could go through a front windshield much less the front and back. Ignorant storytelling. Im not gonna say whether you should stay or go but Im sure the admins can make a good decision. I'm not opposed to doing stupid dodo from time to time but I dr...

Re: Rubber burning smell

I would definitely check the belt. I have never had tires smell from normal use. If your back wheel is not aligned right the belt could be rubbing and that needs to be inspected, you don't wanna burn up your belt and it will cause funny handling characteristics if the wheel is off center. Also, I ha...

Re: Strange problem with 2005 HD Heritage Softail Custom

I would think maybe a faulty ECM. Just a guess though.
I assume they reprogrammed it when they did the upgrades but it never hurts to ask and make sure.
Have you pulled he plugs out after it dies to see if they can give some clues?

Re: RD

Almost got her done. New points and condenser are installed and adjusted. I had to go back and fix the leak around the petcock. I also installed another petcock on the other side of the tank for the other carb. The Napa petcock and the T connecter (think one into two fuel lines) was not evenly distr...

Re: How to get on and get off your motorcycle with a tailbag

I think gsjack has the right idea. Im not tall or lightweight and I have done the stand on left peg dismount many times. No stability issues at all.
I think Wriders idea is a good one too. Just remember to put it in neutral or you might get a scooter up the scat hole.
