And Gummi...I did look long and hard at the Road Glide, but I just couldn't see enough over the fairing. Sunshine, I don't care what you ride - just as long as you ride. But congrats on the new bike! The Road King gives the best compromise between touring and pure eye candy, IMO. As for the ...

Thought I'd pull up a spot and make myself comfy...I brought home my first Harley a week ago. After test riding a whole bunch of bikes, I feel in love with a 2007 Road King. Yup, I'm jumping from a Suzuki S40 to a Road King  I have a few mods to make as I am, well, inseam challenged, but t...

Aha! Found it!
For inseam guidance:

It doesn't take into account how wide the seats are, but it's a good starting point. I believe these are unladen heights, but I could be wrong.

If I were you, I wouldn't count out the bikes in the 600-800 range. You might be able to take some foam off the seats, lower the bike, etc. What's your inseam? I have a 30" inseam and have lots of leg to spare on the S40. Wish I could give you an idea of cost-I'm just now starting to consider mods f...

The only state I know of that has been goofy about side-mounted plates is Florida, mostly because of a poorly written law. They were ticketing bikes (out-of-staters, too) to the tune of $1K

this one just felt like home to me. That's all that matters! Congrats again, and does this mean you might be going west in August?? Quite possibly-I'm still working out vacation after having to take days off for funerals. And it will largely depend on how confident I feel after getting in some park...

She went to the dark side.  Very nice. I couldn't help it-the dark side was beckoning me  It's beautiful!! But c'mon, spill some details: what year, what model, cc's, how's it handle, all that stuff. Bit of a change from S40, huh? Most of all, :happybikeday: It's a 2007 R...

the vibration is sadly nonexistant these days Then I must have been hallucinating when I put 320 miles on a Fat Bob over Christmas and found that it shook so bad that cars in the mirror were just colored blobs, and that I was utterly exhausted after a 200 mile ride. To be fair....IIRC, RockBo...

Dean, that was awesome-that's exactly what I needed to see.

And it's a lot of bike, but within about 10 minutes I was doing tight figure-8s-it's got a really low center of gravity and handles really well

Update: So, the lienholder is HSBC Retail Credit (I'm guessing he got Suzuki financing). I'm a little gun-shy on this, as there's many stories of HSBC not releasing the lien upon payoff in a timely manner. And, we don't have an HSBC office anywhere in the state. Any ideas here? I know we can write a...

Ugh-found the rub....he's got a payoff he has to make before he can get the title  Unfortunately, he has to sell the bike to make the payoff. I have 0 reason to think the bike is stolen, as he is riding it on base (we saw him come out of and go through the gate when we met). I have the VIN and...

I haven't signed on the dotted line yet-I'm forcing myself to sleep on it. And look up parts that may need replacing. And research tires. And commit the OEM schematics to memory. You know, normal stuff 8) You're preaching to the converted here. Funny, though, how we put more thought, effort and res...

Any Harley rider who says that to you isn't worthy of riding with. If it has two wheels and an engine, who the ---- cares where it was built. Congrats on the bike! looks like you got a good deal. FTR, I really do want a Road King, and they know it - I just to hand back what was dished out :laughing...

When your buddies say "It's not a Harley!" tell them "Yeah you're right, this bike actually runs!" They love stuff like that. My response-"If you want to get me a Road King, I'll gladly take it-with a warranty and the full service manual" I wish I could have started it cold, but he had to ri...
