Re: Riding in high wind

I agree with Buzz, the winds in flat land Alberta can get damn nasty. Been riding in 70k winds before. And yes it sucked. Depending on which direction the cross wind is coming from, i will position myself on the the left or right side of the lane. This helps when you riding and there is a wind break...

Re: Are you a leftie or a rightie

I seem to favor the right. I dont know the scientific reasoning behind this other than the fact that I am right handed. And I can skate better crossing over the right leg over in left curves. but cannot, for some stupid reason, cross the left leg over going into a right turning curve. And I can writ...

Re: chain wax

I use chainwax on my bike, I find that it does not collect the road grime as bad as other lubes. My recommendation is, be sure when you spray it on, to use a cloth behind the chain to catch the spray so it doesnt get on the wheel rims, as it stains. And no matter what you use it wont come out.

Two Fingered Typers

Today I saw the most amazing thing. I was at the Insurance Brokers, getting my bike insurance for the year, and the Insurance dude tying up the paperwork was the fastest two fingered typer in west. :shooting: Usually it is a painstaking process for the typing inept. So really, how many of you can ty...

Re: Got confirmation of the need to wear earplugs, yesterday

As for riding, I'll always wear them. Once you start you'll never go back. I'm with you on that one high side. I find that with my lid that I wear, using the earplugs not only keeps the wind and noise to a dull roar, it keeps the dirt from going deep into your ear. I have forgotten them at times, a...

Re: The 500 Most Commonly Used Words in the English Language

#1 should be 'fluck'. It is the perfect word. It can be a noun, verb, adjective, pronoun, anything you want. And it conveys certain feelings like no other. "This thing is broken." "Flucken flucker's flucked." Which one carries more weight? I really hate that censorbot.... :crazycrazy: Oh buzZ...

Re: Could I be wrong?

i'm gonna vote with Dean on this one--the mental practice makes all the difference in the world. i ride year-round, but even just running errands in my truck or the days that it rains or any other reason i'm not on my motorcycle, i still watch out for the same traffic situations and see my way out,...
