Re: Just when I think I have it figured out...

The VLX is a great bike. Dropping 2 teeth on the rear K&N filter and stage 1 jetting, mine pulled a little harder than stock and rev'd less too. Throw in a set of EBC Kevlar brakes and you have a bike that feels like it cost a LOT more than it did. I loved mine if I were not limited so much by incom...

Re: What did you do today...

Today my valve cover gaskets for maggie showed up. I got them done pretty quickly and adjusted the valves while I was in there. Installed some new fuel line and new filter. Ill pick up the stuff for her oil change and do that tomorrow. This just leaves a seat :kicking:

Re: What did you do today...

I was digging through a bunch of parts I had and discovered I had brand new EBC rotor and Kevlar pads that fit my Nighthawk so she got new brakes it didn't really need but wow what an upgrade......... The feel is so much more firm now and takes less effort. Did some more polishing on Maggie ( magna)...

Re: Saddleman VS> Corbin

The mustang seats I have seen certainly seemed comfortable however none to fit my bike. If anyone knows of another option I am open to it... I wish I had a seat that i could use to put some hours on this bike to see how I like it before I throw more than I paid for the bike into a seat. The differen...

Somthing VERY cool about this forms members

This is something I have been thinking about since I had to find a place to mount and balance the tires on my Nighthawk. The people on this site appreciate the broad spectrum of both RIDERS and RIDES. The different places I have ridden or motorcycle shops I have been to ( basically anything that has...

Re: The World on Two Wheels (a DMV Messiah Blog)

I know two people who are so ignorant with the loud pipes mess that they admit they don't want to ride their bikes because of the noise....... ceemes forgot the part about the rubbing of the poison ivy in the lederhosen...... Don't feel alone about the gear touching the exhaust been there done that....

Re: Saddleman VS> Corbin

The problem with my shadow was the foam was too weak and I felt the pan from about the 4 hour mark of its first real trip. And the way the back of it curved up bit my tail bone. The CBR and Night hawk are just a little soft but overall a world better. Although I am not FAT I am fairly heavy. My Fzr ...

Re: New to forum

Welcome aboard. Pacific coasts are very cool bikes. I got to ride one for a few days some years back for a customer of mine. He wanted me to go over it for him and insisted I drive it for a few days as he was going cross country on it. Was a very nice bike / utility van lol. I do not have any more r...

Re: 2012 Honda Crossrunner VFR800X - COOL WALL VOTE: VOTE NO

I like seeing a company try something new. I think this is an attempt in a good direction. The specifications of the bike look pretty good. I am not so keen on the general look of the "new high tech" bikes. I have recently decided for myself my nighthawk IS THE all around bike for me. Since I have h...

Saddleman VS> Corbin

I need to get a seat for my NEW to me 84 magna. I don't even have a useable pan so rather than going for a used seat and recovering it I have decided to just get a new seat since there are a few available. Saddleman makes the double bucket variety I can get for 180 shipped. Corbin makes a version fo...

Re: Not so quiet now.

Ill have you know the boots are water proof. If you leave them on after riding in the rain, they will stay full of water indefinitely...... I had a pair that would somehow fill with water and look dry on the outside 30 minutes later, meanwhile squish squish squish.

Re: Strange problem with 2005 HD Heritage Softail Custom

This certianly seems electrical in nature. An ECM would be the first thing I would suspect. BUT a lot of ECM failures are caused by high resistance or overload on a circuit it controls. These faults cause the computer to shut down from the heat when it cools of it can work again. This type of proble...

Re: EBR (Erik Buell Racing) and Total Motorcycle

It would be great to see, someone looking to make anything and make it well and not for numbers, make it to a giant success. Unfortunately the system feeds the opposite. WE THE PEOPLE must support this kind of person. The hard part is I cant afford to buy anything from this fella and I dont see anyo...
