Re: The Blog of Blues

I love your riding stories.

As I cut my own hair about every Friday with a #1/2 clipper, no one can tell when I have helmet hair or not.

I have been reading a lot on DPS as you suggested, a great resource, and I am looking forward to you posting picks.

Safe Travels,
Richard

This would get a cool except for: •Recommended max cruising speed, mph: 70 That would keep me off most of the roads in Texas where it is common to have 75 mph speed limits even on secondary highways. If you can't ride at the prevailing speed of traffic, that is a significant safety issue. If I lived...

Re: bike blue tooth systems

Just a bit more info. I use ear plugs when I ride on the highway and the SMH10 does just fine, but only after I did some work on my wind protection, a pair of wind deflectors and a new windshield, to greatly improve the level of wind noise and wind buffeting I was experiencing when riding at speed o...

Re: Looking to upgrade

If you like the service you are getting from your Triumph dealership... what about the Trophy for a touring bike? I love the technology of the BMW motorcycles, and even a bit of the sub-culture, but not the maintenance and the major lack of dependability. The BMW brand has one of the worst records f...

Looking great Jamers, and you are thinking and learning.

I wish I could find some place that nice to ride that close to my home. You are a luck man.

Re: bike blue tooth systems

Paul, I use a Sena SMH10 system, but my wife does not ride with me so I have no experience with the linking two of them together for person-to-person communications. I bought two units so that one can be charging in the tank bag while the other is in use and this allows me to ride without any power ...

Re: Lucky Save From a Lowside

James, By slow ... I mean walking speed. That is the only time you need to counter-lean (shift your body to the outside of the turn) in an effort to lean the bike more (as in making a u-turn), the rest of the time you want to move your body to the inside of the turn so that you can keep your moto mo...

Day 388 : Monday June 1, 2015 : Miles 26088 Last Thursday I got home from work to find Mrs. Hanson in pain. She had fallen on the front walk and skinned both of her knees and one was hurting bad. After some discussions, we decided to take her into the clinic to check out that knee because Susi was n...

Re: LA, behind bars

Congrats Jamers ... it is wonderful to be riding. I liked the comments about working on skills. When I come to a stop it is always left foot down and right foot on the break unless I mess up. Try to keep the tires just to the left of centre so that your left foot is not in the oil patch in the centr...

Re: Lucky Save From a Lowside

I thought if you were going slow it was better to counter lean? I have been doing that on slow start turns out of driveways and it seems to help keep me on an angle. he needed to get away from the edge and leaning helps close the turn but he had no clearance, what were his options in this case? I k...

I am a bit disappointed to see that someone voted a fail without explication. I am interested in why this bike is a fail.

Re: The Africa Twin is Back: CRF1000L Africa Twin Confirmed for 2015

There are a lot of happy dirt oriented adventure riders talking about this bike and it is going to be a very strong competitor to offerings from KTM.

I am surprised a bit by the AT being optioned with the DCT.

Re: This Week: 2015 Hyosung GT250N - Vote Now

I voted cool. $3800 is a price point that will allow a lot of people to get on the road. 600 less than a Suzuki TU250X 400 less than a Honda Rebel 400 less than a Honda CBR250R I don't like the looks all that much, but it does offer a naked alternative to other small bikes. I can remember being youn...

Day 365 : Saturday May 9, 2015 : Miles 25869 This is my last day of my first year of riding, at least since I was a kid over 30 years ago. The time has ridden past much faster than I expected. A big difference is that at the start I was out the door at every opportunity, but now I am saving my gas m...

Re: My Moto Guzzi V7. Does it smell like pizza or is it just me?

Amazing to consider what's happened in our lives and the Guzzi since I last posted. Unfortunately in March, my wife was laid off from her job in oil and gas ... I hate to hear those words. I am sorry for the hard times. ... my Guzzi to be shipped back to Canada. ... I hate to here these words just ...
