Re: Save the earth, buy a scooter

I have yet to see anybodys prius only get 30 mpg. My mom owns one and it consistently gets around 55 mpg (used mainly for city driving, it drops to the high 40s on the highway). The main reason why that 92 civic gets better milage than a 2010 fit is weight, that civic is probably almost 1000lbs ligh...

Re: First time at "highway speeds"

My main gripe about highway riding is its too boring the the roads too straight:P My CX500 sounded like it was doing a grand prix at 80mph (CX500s actually have a wonderful sounding engine for an old UJM, sounds like a ducati). My bandit was nearly silent other than wind noise at 80 mph, I could hav...

Re: Bikes with Good Insurance Scores?

lots of variables. I get _MUCH_ cheaper rates because I ride V-Twins instead of 4-cyl Depends on the type of coverage and displacement. My 50hp 500cc Vtwin was only 5$ cheaper to insure than my 90hp 600cc 4 cylinder was. This was for liability + Uninsured motorist in both cases as the bikes were bo...

Re: im looking into these bikes here , and suggestions.

GS500, SV650, Ninja 250/500/650, ER6-N (now available in the US:D) are all good choices to learn on and a lot faster than you think they are, they are also cheaper to buy and cheaper to insure than a 600 super sport, and typically cheaper to fix if you happen to drop it (statistically your first bik...

Re: World's scariest trail ride

That is insanity. I would think twice about walking a trial like that.

Wonder where that trail is? The riders sounded european.

I also think I found its 4 wheeled cousin down in Baja. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXngwdJt4pI

Re: Save the earth, buy a scooter

Motorcycles are weird with their fuel economy too. My bandit 600 got its highest mpg when I was thrashing it in the canyons when the engine was at 7k+ rpm most of the time, I have heard this from other owners of various 600cc 4 cylinder bikes too (I suspect it has to do with the way 600s are tuned)....

Hows that Sato exhaust sound? The few RCs I have heard in person all had stock pipes so couldn't really tell if they sounded any good.

Re: Pretty cool viral vid for the BMW S1000RR

According to a few Beemer guys I know, the S1000 fully loaded with everything is going for about 25K. The base one is going for about 17K. 17k might be competitive for a 1000 haha, considering the price gouging going on a lot lately. The local honda shop is trying to sell 1000RRs for 16k and 600 RR...

Hows that bike for riding any distance? The riding position on those always reminded me of a Ducati i.e. super aggressive bordering on torture rack.

I bet it would be an absolute blast on the track:)

Re: Cell Phone Blue Tooth

If your main desire is to communicate with your wife when driving with her maybe consider using helmet speakers/mic with a pair of those FRS 2 way radios they are pretty cheap and work up to a few miles, also saves you the distraction of having other people call you while on your bike.

I am saving mother earth from global warming, look at the volcanos in Iceland, the only reason they are erupting is because of global warming melting the ice that covers them. Learn something about Geology before posting stuff like this. Climate and Glaciation do not effect if/when a volcano erupts...

Re: Looking at new Suzuki C50

The C50s seat height is very low. My wife was able to flat foot one and shes 5'3". They are pretty well balanced too, the center of gravity is nice and low making the bike feel pretty light compared to some cruisers *cough* sportster *cough*

Re: In the market for a new bike, suggestions?

Not sure where to find a good chopper kit. Typically kit built and custom choppers look great but ride like utter crap (hardtails, floppy frames and insane rake angles do not make for good riding bikes). Big Dogs are about the most ridable of the custom choppers. Factory choppers like the Honda Fury...

Re: ebay motors?

Bought my last bike off of ebay. Only issue was the seller being a bit of an a-hole and trying to get me to wire him the money for the bike sight unseen (when I stated to him that I would pay him with a cashiers check when I picked up the bike), we resolved that issue and the bike served me well for...

I've gone 137 on the 1125R...damn thing felt straight as an arrow...no headshake or anything and still had another 1000 RPMs to rev limiter. No suprise there. I had my 600 bandit to 130 before (top speed of that bike) and it still felt rock solid at that speed. but in reference to the OP, Yes prett...

4.9 gallon tank? didn't the preceding model have a 7 gallon tank?

On the bright side it should drop the price on used interceptors by a lot.
