Re: Save the earth, buy a scooter

I have yet to see anybodys prius only get 30 mpg. My mom owns one and it consistently gets around 55 mpg (used mainly for city driving, it drops to the high 40s on the highway). The main reason why that 92 civic gets better milage than a 2010 fit is weight, that civic is probably almost 1000lbs ligh...

Re: First time at "highway speeds"

My main gripe about highway riding is its too boring the the roads too straight:P My CX500 sounded like it was doing a grand prix at 80mph (CX500s actually have a wonderful sounding engine for an old UJM, sounds like a ducati). My bandit was nearly silent other than wind noise at 80 mph, I could hav...

Re: Bikes with Good Insurance Scores?

lots of variables. I get _MUCH_ cheaper rates because I ride V-Twins instead of 4-cyl Depends on the type of coverage and displacement. My 50hp 500cc Vtwin was only 5$ cheaper to insure than my 90hp 600cc 4 cylinder was. This was for liability + Uninsured motorist in both cases as the bikes were bo...

Re: im looking into these bikes here , and suggestions.

GS500, SV650, Ninja 250/500/650, ER6-N (now available in the US:D) are all good choices to learn on and a lot faster than you think they are, they are also cheaper to buy and cheaper to insure than a 600 super sport, and typically cheaper to fix if you happen to drop it (statistically your first bik...

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, screaming " Holy "crumb"! What a ride!" Author Unknown  That Author would be the one and only Hunter S. Tompson

Re: World's scariest trail ride

That is insanity. I would think twice about walking a trial like that.

Wonder where that trail is? The riders sounded european.

I also think I found its 4 wheeled cousin down in Baja. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXngwdJt4pI

Re: Save the earth, buy a scooter

Motorcycles are weird with their fuel economy too. My bandit 600 got its highest mpg when I was thrashing it in the canyons when the engine was at 7k+ rpm most of the time, I have heard this from other owners of various 600cc 4 cylinder bikes too (I suspect it has to do with the way 600s are tuned)....

Hows that Sato exhaust sound? The few RCs I have heard in person all had stock pipes so couldn't really tell if they sounded any good.

Re: Pretty cool viral vid for the BMW S1000RR

According to a few Beemer guys I know, the S1000 fully loaded with everything is going for about 25K. The base one is going for about 17K. 17k might be competitive for a 1000 haha, considering the price gouging going on a lot lately. The local honda shop is trying to sell 1000RRs for 16k and 600 RR...
