Re: naked standards

Triumph Street triple:) Though they seem completely non-existent on the used market. There are tons of cheap used SV650s out there

Is that Guzzi supposed to be a cruiser or something? Its running some pretty steep rake. Definitely unique looking.

That honda looks good for a retro standard. I dont see that one making it to our side of the pond.

Well shoot, I really don't want to pick up chicks...
but I do like my cool bikes.

Be cautious of temp.
Too hot=heat stroke
Too cold=hypothermia
dress accordingly.
And in Colorado you can get both in the same day

Wild Lions like this are only now seen in the National parks, but here our parks are as big as some countries. We do still get, Baboons, Chacma's and Leopard that are still outside of the park, plus a lot of other wild cats like Civet, Caracal and Genet. Monkeys are plentiful in the coastal regions...

There is something no civilian doctor will ever see. I doubt any civilian doc has ever performed surgery where he was at risk of being blown up by the object he was trying to remove from the patient.

Add more steering input to get the bike over more, get your weight to the inside, and feed in a little trail braking if the front end starts to push. Maintain steady throttle and if your trail braking just ease off a tad, do not completely shut down the throttle. If pegs start scraping stay in it un...

Always worn a full face. I would feel naked even with a 3/4. considering the amount of large bugs and rocks that have introduced themselves to the faceshield im glad I have that full face. Even on the hottest summer days simply cracking open the visor when at a stop is sufficient to keep comfortable...

Re: loud

Here's what noise related items I'd do away with before loud pipes on bikes - barking dogs and their idiot owners, loud music and thumping and their self-centered idiot owners, crying babies in restaurants and their inconsiderate idiot parents, loud profane people in public - actually, loud bikes a...

The main perk of being in an armed society like the US is you have the option to take your personal security into your own hands rather than relying on the police (who may not be around when you need them). You can leagally buy most guns in the US with nothing more than a criminal background check s...

The CX is no fun on the highway. The longest I rode mine in a single stretch was 100 miles or so my hands and butt were completely numb by the end of it  . For comparison my second bike was a 600 bandit, I did a couple of 500+ mile days on that bike and it was comfortable to ride almost an...

Its harder to pursue a hit and run driver here. Most of the hit and run drivers out in these parts are illegal aliens. If its in Cali the cops wont touch an illegal for anything less than a serious felony because their state govt is very soft on illegals (the law requires that LE agencies turn all i...

Your only real option is to try to press chages.

If there are no injuries/fatalities the insurance company is only going to send him a subrogation notice and when he inevitably doens't pay them they will just turn it over to a collection agency, so the only thing its going to hurt is his credit.

Congrats. My first bike was a CX500. Its a really nice riding bike for its age. The engine has plenty of power even down low, and is a real easy bike to ride. Its pretty comfortable for in town riding, but above 70mph it does vibrate a bit. In good working order they will do 90+ mph and will cruise ...

Happy bike day. My opinion of the Sv1k was it was the 650s bigger, nastier, and roomier brother. The size and ergros felt bigger and roomier than the 650, pretty much the whole literbike vs 600 deal.

Id love to snag a SV1k myself (preferably a naked one).

I like both bikes and cars. I prefer bikes.

At least at the level of stupidly fast race vehicle. My chances of lapping a track in an F1 car and bringing it back in 1 piece are better than my chances of doing that on a moto GP bike.

Well, technically I'd say you'd be on the level of buying a SuperGT car. Unless you're buying an RC212V. Still ridiculous, I mean a YZF-R1 is probably the equivalent of a Audi R10. The straight line performance is probably similar. The R10 being several magnitudes higher in cornering and top speed....
