If your into scooters you can get a Suzuki Burgman 400 or 650 and both are comfortable, have good power and storage space. Now motorcycle-wise I guess a Suzuki V-Strom has the best ergos and great fuel mileage. If looking for cruisers they have the Vulcan 500, Honda 750 Spirit or 600cc VLX, Yamaha V...

I probably under-dress for rides sometimes, when the weather is nice, but I don't do it for the sake of some redneck image, but just because I feel mentally challenged or extremely uncomfortable in layers of armor on a hot day. I think I may try and get some elbow pads for days like this. Yeah, in ...

In my avatar you can clearly see that I'm wearing too much armor. Underneath is an Icon Field Vest with the hardened back and chest protector. Some people say I look SWAT. That's changed now with the black collared leather jacket with a white HJC fullface and Halo band around it for nighttime reflec...

Anyone remember/ heard/ played the Playstation game Final Fantasy VII? There's a scene where the lead character takes a bike and being chased by the bad guys. It looked like it had 4 exhausts and probably 4 cyl: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v600/jen0va99/Ultimania%20Omega/hardydaytonaultimania....

Well, after two known cases of road rage here in NYC there is somewhat of a crackdown, especially the case where a bike was passing and this guy in a Honda Civic began chasing him causing him to crash in the back of an SUV. The guy is charged with murder which is a first when involving bikers. I'll ...

That's awesome dude and good luck to ya. Just a reminder, once you take that machine out more often you will fall prey to obsession of tinkering and wondering what changes you might want to make. As for the tailgating, just take a look back once in a while to see if they pay attention to your brake ...

I'm guessing I'm the psychotic one doing 400 miles each way in one sitting, only stopping for gas and a candy bar .

What? I had to see how improved my bike was after I changed the tires, chain, gearing, clutch, sintered brakes and serviced valves.

I've got a parallel twin, not too bad sound and performance wise. I would rather have the V4 that powered the Honda Magna.

"I hope he drove off with your boot sized dent in his door." Actually I, for some reason, did something bolder and walked right up to his drivers side and he started to drive off even tho the light was still red. Basically he told me that I cut him off as he was switching lanes so I told him that wa...

I just heard that same excuse today. I was riding along and the sun was out when this idiot in a cage next to me started to change into me so I saw the situation and deemed it better to honk my horn and speed up. The guy starts to severely tailgate me and then he croosed the double yellow only to pu...

Funny, you're posting something that happened to me 2 days ago when the + terminal on my battery was loose from a crack and starting the bike would be like a crap shoot and then broke off yesterday. Like everyone else says check the battery connections. Then check the fuses next to the battery. Afte...

Sorry to hear about that. That's why I always leave it in first and shut off the engine, no chance of rolling. If it makes you feel better at least you didn't drop it in front of a lot of people at a McDOnald's parking lot and struggle to pick it up . I had pulled in and the kickstand was on a...

Well I can thank her for putting more people under the impression that all motorcyclists race and put everyone else in danger. Then the politicians will think about having speed limiters place on bikes or just ban them outright for being so dangerous. I remember a time when someone ran a stop sign a...

I have the same bike but from 2001. I started hearing a buzzing sound at around 16,000 miles. At first I might thought it would be the windshield then I heard that steering head bearings might be the culprit or the speedo housing could be loose.

I don't anything else so I hope this might help there.

I had a pair of Dunlop 404 tires on my Vulcan and they're great for a while but a little after 6-7000 miles the tires aren't so hot when cold and or wet. Currently I have a Dunlop F11 qualifier front with a Dunlop K627 rear and work great in heavy rain and the occasional hard packed dirt road but I ...

Brake Rotors

Hey, I'm relatively new here but been here long before registering. Anyhow, I have a 2001 Vulcan 500 (EN500 C6) that I bought used in 2004 with 2300 miles on the clock. Now the odometer reads 25,234 and I've got some questions: The rotor seems to be worn, but it doesn't seem so bad, but how long do ...
