Thanks for the heads up. I've lived in this area for almost 20 years so I'm pretty familiar with the pot hole and inattentive driver situation! I couldn't wait to get on the road this afternoon. I pulled the battery from the tender and popped it into the bike. Fired right up and was music to m...

You probably don't need a new battery, just throw the current one on a battery tender and get it charged up. Definitely change out the oil. Try to see if you can just use a high cocentration of Seafoam in your gas. Seafoam "might" be able to loosen up the varnished gas, but no guarantee.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again! I passed my MSF course, but I failed by license test for my automobile license when I was 17  I came in the following week and passed it that time. Don't get too down on yourself because you didn't pass. Learn from your mistakes and move on. Good l...

I've heard of instructors at the end of the BRC actually saying, "Congratulations. You are now qualified to ride around in circles in a parking lot." Which is true. It is then up to the new student to go out and practice, practice, practice. P I completely agree. I called my buddy who is a MD MSF i...

anarchy - our instructors did the same after our course. I called my buddy right after passing and he told me I was now certified to ride in a parking lot  Our instructors told as all afterwards, that the BRC was a good basis but that we should still practice on our bikes before heading on...

Go to a locksmith with the ignition and they'll be able to do it for you. Don't get fooled into paying $75 for the job though. It should only cost approximately $10 a key.

It's normal as a newb to feel that way. You don't have trust in your own skill right now and it's the easy way to to cop it out on your bike. Your bike can handle those turns, it's just that you haven't done them enough to know your limitations or skill yet. The more miles you rack up, the more comf...

Pass on the VLX, it's got a 4Speed and from what I've read you really feel the need for a 5th gear...

Though the Vulcon is a smaller displacement, it's actually faster than the VLX.

Both bikes are going to be bullet proof. They've been around for years so the design is proven...
