Re: Loooking for future device upgrade for weather/radar

Whats the lowest monthly Internet connection service fee?

I would only use it for the radar. Really just the Radar

So I can keep those dark clouds at bay :shooting:

Loooking for future device upgrade for weather/radar

Currently is a cell phone with internet access the only way to get weather radar information while riding? If so what type of cell phone is suitable for riding (screen bigger than a tiny one please) and just a quick peak at the radar as well as the type of internet plan? I'm stuck with Verizon (U.S....

Re: My MSF class experience

All in all, I felt I got my money’s worth out of the MSF course. It’s the bare minimum a person should do prior to riding. I found that I was in the minority as most of my fellow students already had their learner’s permit and had been riding prior to taking the class. The class was my first time o...

Re: What are your thoughts on rider education? (MSF or beyon

In my state of Illinois in the U.S. in the BRC, they do have your ride over lumbar/wood as a obsticle . This is not total traction loss but I do understand your point. My opinion is that truely new riders need to practice keeping the rubber down and some have a difficult time with it but real tracti...

Re: What are your thoughts on rider education? (MSF or beyon

In Illinois the courses are all free. You put a refundable deposit down but thats it. The student to instructor ratio is 6 to 1 but a major factor is if there is a Range Aid or not. The more time a instructor spends moving cones and bikes the less time there is for individual instruction. I've been ...

Re: Looking for most MPG on real motorcycle no scooters plea

I posted the question on this becuase the mpg chart does not contain a number of those bikes that are in the top 10. At least I didn't see them there.

Re: Riding again

Kevin- Your friends story is more common than most people know because many people hide thier bike drops from others because of ego. We all screw up but we only grow from it when we learn from our mistakes and in my case I try to share it like you did so hopefully someone else may not get hurt. I st...

Re: Having trouble finding the right 1st bike for my GF and

Totalmotorcycle is right. Two $1500 bikes becuase you two are to far apart in height for a single solution. She needs to be flat footed at the stop light and you need to be able to turn the bike without the handlebars hitting your knee's. Generally speaking the type of bike she would fit best in mos...

Valve stem extension for 1500 Goldwing

I have a 1998 Goldwing 1500 and need a rear tire valve extension. The reason is it's very hard to both reach and find.

So is there one that is either brightly colored or a bit glow in the darkish?

Whats the fascination with death head graphics?

Although not common with touring bikes, many other bikers seem to love death head graphics. Now I just turned 50 so I'm old but not that old. Can anyone help me understand the rider fascination with death figures as "Art"? My surprise is that it seems to be a majority of sport/cruiser riders fascina...

Re: You can get your motorcycle license on a Can-Am Spyder??

Wow you people are fired up. I just thought I though a idea in the mix. MSF in my opinion is a good organization but in some states does have too much power and this power can corrupt the licensing process and end result of a safe rider. This type of power should be reserved to the government not tu...

Looking for US State map but specifically for bikes

I would like to have a map of my State. I want to be able to fold it out on the kitchen table. I would to find one that is made specifically for planning bike trips. This is what would make it different than the maps we all know. Do they exist, cost and where can I get one? I would also get a few of...

Re: Mileage on two single cylinder questions

Yes the Yamaha has the fat front tire and the Suzuki has the narrow front tire.

I like the look of the Yamaha but want to be sure the mpg is close to each other and not what some guy posted on the net.

Mileage on two single cylinder questions

I read a review of Suzuki DR200SE with mileage claim of 105 mpg and a Yamaha TW200 with a claim of 78 mpg. I know it depends on riding style and weight of rider. What is the real world expected milage? This is with the same weight of the rider and same style of riding on the road only. I weigh 210 a...

Re: Thinking of 2nd bike for utility

Is the lack of a kick start true with all older models as well? This bike would be covered but kept outside so the kick start is a must in my mind. Also what I'm thinking of is in some movies that are filmed in 3rd world countries you see single piston bikes with plenty of cargo or storage room and ...
