New Triumph Sprint 1050

I've just finished reading the first test of the new Sprint1050 in Cycle Canada and this looks like one impressive machine. A comfy bike with the three cylinder growl that apparently really does pull like a twin from the bottom end this time. I never thought I would be a three pot rider instead of a...

Re: Replacement rubber

I found a cheap $100 Chen Shin worked as good as anything, lasted a bit longer than the expensive stuff and I never snake-bit a tube with one. I used to run those my self for the most obvious reason and never found them to be lacking in any way. A cheap tire in good shape(cause I could afford more ...

Are you kidding. With all the stuff we pack because of my family, we'll be taking a car too. But at least I won't be in it! :D What would you say about my wife riding the '89 VTR 250 up there too? Is that too much for a small sport bike? What if its really windy on the return trip home? I guess she...

HMMMM Could you send me the Edmonton Journal Career section? :) JJ You mean the Calgary Herald don't you? Edmonton is hours away from the rocks, poor sods, and they probably still have snow on the ground  By the way basic liability on my VTR1000 is $140 a year here in Calgary. I can get the fu...

Great question Mike! I was tempted to go eighties or nineties but then I realized just how great bikes are today. There were great bikes from all eras, but bikes are better today than they have ever been before. We are livin contiuously in the golden age. You gotta love it :D

Re: Need Some Reassurance

I'm thinking of taking a 230 mile road trip to go camping. And then another 230 miles back home a week later. But I've never gone that kind of distance on my motorcycle before. 600 mile days on your 6-E should not be a problem. I put many of them on mine when I had it. Water-proof yourself and your...

As a Miguel fan I am sorry to say he will never have the opportunity to beet Scott Russels record straight up. There is no competition in Formula Extreme for Honda and this win really shouldn't be used to compare to what Russel has done. If the Superbike was still the 200, it was pretty obvious that...

The achillies heel of my VTR is the fuel range. 200km if I baby it, and alot less if I don't. It's a great bike but that kind of range is really unacceptable. I would think a minimum of 250km is what anyone who does any kind of touring should look for. Far more if possible.....

Diluting the AMA

Well the mighty inventors of the superbike class have just about destroyed decent upper class bike racing in the USA as we used to know it. How the he77 can you have so many classes with minimal manufacturer involvement in each and expect people to remain interested???? They need a STOCK 600cc class...

Re: Toad Rock Motorcyle Campground Annual Event

Last summer I visited Toad Rock and was very happy with what I found. I've been to many campsites, some claiming to be motorcycle friendly. I stopped by there this year to check it out (while I was with the family on vacation). I read artical in Canadian Biker and I like the idea of the jammin' sta...
