Re: How fast did you break in a motorcycle?

Does she even like riding? It's a serious question. I had 100 miles on the odometer in the first 2 hours I owned my bike, and logged about 700mi/month ever since.

Help her find some ladies riding groups. Show her some nice, country roads and take her out for lunch.

Re: gift for a woman

I like the massage idea. Offer to detail her bike? (provided you do it right. You know we can be fussy about these things) I usually buy whatever bike related thing that I want, when I want to, so I'm not much help. For what it's worth, I make a lot of silver jewelry that plays well with motorcycle ...

I just slow down until I can see enough of where the road goes. Beats pulling off onto a soft shoulder and dumping into a cactus :)

Re: Nervous on open highways

Keeping your knees snug to the bike, for me, helps with control. I can darn near steer the thing with my butt on a brand new set of tires. As for your bike (I have the same, one year older), it handles excessive highway speeds like a champ. I've ridden it through some of the worst traffic you can im...

Re: Do you ride in the rain? At night?

Ain't nothing like riding in bad weather. Bring our your best profanity and have a ball! I'll ride in anything that won't stick to the road and turn into ice. Been through some pretty vicious microbursts - hail, wind shear, lightning so close I could taste it, the works. I don't seek these things ou...

Re: New Rider Experience

My bike looks like holy hell, so I'm making him ride it for a year to get the hang of things (and to get those first two or three dumps out of the way) before we buy him something pretty and shiny. I am an awesome wife :)

Re: Alaska here we come

I grew up in Alaska and went back for a visit this last August. You're in for a treat. I hear the entire AlCan is entirely paved as of a couple of years ago. There's a publication called Milepost Magazine for it, too. Get one. It'll show you where all the gas stations are (and help you locate the on...

Re: New Rider Experience

Congratulations! You got the first dump out of the way. Only one or two more to go :) My husband dumped mine for the first time last week while stopped on the side of the road. Called me all freaked out. Cutest thing ever.

Enjoy the ride!
