Re: Guess what I had for supper on Saturday night?

Well, I may be very new on here, but must say that my wife now officially hates you!!!! :D :D She absolutely loves lobster and we can't get it here...only the small claw-less langustas, and they just aren't the same. Whenever we get back to the States, the first thing she starts looking for is a go...

Re: Cafe Racer Forum

what is the best cafe racer forum out there? :D Maybe there is a terminology problem here... To me (an old coot), the term "cafe racer" comes from the 60's British craze of combining bikes to get the best combination of parts for the perfect street racer look. The name came because most o...

VFR

I also think your series of the VFR was the best....gear driven cams and without the toast-your-passengers-butt high pipes. The new one shown above has gone back to the low pipe, but still has the tiny, almost useless, passenger seat. My wife and I do a lot of touring whenever we can, and she wouldn...

Wishes...

I would dearly love to see the VFR800 replaced with a VSR1000. Since VFR stands for V Four Racing, the VSR would be a V Six Racing! Honda could make a V-6 easily enough, bring back the gear-driven cams, keep the EFI, go back to a low pipe(s), and replace the overweight single-sided swingarm with a n...

Mesh Jackets

Joe Rocket also carries a very nice mesh jacket. It also comes with a liner in case you get caught in the rain.

My wife and I both have them. We used them for six years in southern Africa (South Africa and Swaziland) and we have zero complaints.

Cheers,

Mac

Rice burner was a reference to any Japanese built motorcycle. I was surprised to see it. It used to not be uncommon to find a bowl of rice in front of your honda MC in the morning. Yeah, funny how the language changes over the years. In my day, it was a disparaging remark, usually by riders of U.S....

Re: HYPERR

Whereabouts are you in S. Africa? I live in a town called Alberton which is 20 Kms from Johannesburg. A bit like the suburbs of a large city. In Africa though you are never far away from the country side. Aside from the cities that have huge trafffic problems, we have a really good road network tha...

Best lock

I agree on the disk lock. For routine stops, you can use the disk lock alone. For overnight or all day parking, I use one of the super-hardened cable and the disk lock. Get one of the brightly colored locks so it is visible to potential thieves. Then get a bright colored ribbon, tie one end securely...

Accident

Wow...bad luck! Like you said, though, it is good that you weren't standing there at the time.

Your insurance shouldn't have to pay a thing. Whoever owns the building is liable in this case.

Good luck in getting it fixed while the nice weather is there!

Cheers,

Mac
