Re: 07 Raptor 350 Backfires Then Dies

It sure sounds like a valve issue then since you have ruled out a lean condition. Maybe a burnt one from bad clearance before or an improper adjustment. Another big issue on air cooled engines with bad fuel is it can build up gunk on the valve stems and stick them or make them sticky or slow. I see ...

Re: 07 Raptor 350 Backfires Then Dies

Most likely if you did not remove the idle mixture screw for cleaning then the idle passages are not cleared. Before you remove it turn it in counting the turns till it stops so you can put it in the same position when you are done. Make sure the tank is clean as well. Once you get it right keep sea...

Re: What did you do today...

Today I started working on all the maintenance work on Maggie that I could think of. I rebuilt the calipers and master cylinder as well as the clutch hydraulics. I figured since its an 84 so new rubber parts would be a good idea. I have to get some differential lube and change that tomorrow. She sto...

Re: Dropped my bike.......Lot;s of questions

There should be a jam nut locking the mirror shaft to its mount point loosen the nut then the mirror arm should turn. If its bent then it can be straightened SOMETIMES. Dont just grab it and try to bend it thou...

Re: H-D viberation

I just drove a few hours to get a plexistar 2 for my magna. I installed it right in the mans yard and then took the long way home. I drove a while on an interstate at about 75 mph and it was great. It gave great coverage and I did not notice any noises from it. The top vents on my helmet do get a li...

Re: New bike, more problems - SuperHawk VTR1000

I have used some electrical parts from RICKS ELECTRICS I have never had a problem with them. normally I would price them compared to an OE part and see what makes the most sense. Some times the RICKS parts are redesigned sometimes not. I dont know where you guys normally get your oe parts but cheap ...

Right on Wrider, a lift with mechanical locks is fine just not some of the hydraulic only types.

Re: Can a bike lift be used to store a bike instead of stand

General rule of thumb is hydraulics are for lifting NOT holding. Just like you lift a car with a jack but leave it on stands.... With the cost of any hydraulic lift I wouldn't leave it holding the bike as it will damage the lift sooner or later and when it does possibly drop your bike.
