Hello everyone!
I am a 58 year old female, getting my license this August. I am looking for ideas on what bikes would be suitable for me? I want a comfortable bike, a bike I can ride long distances on. I am 5 ft 9 inches tall and weigh 140 lbs, with an inseam of 33. Can't afford a new bike, I think of spending about 3-5 grand.
I have lots of road experience as a bus driver for many years all over Europe...so I am always very aware of what is happening around me.
Any ideas? A V 650 was suggested by a friend.....

Welcome to TMW.
You will enjoy the 650 V-Star. I speak from experience. It was also my first bike.
We are the same size, too. You will be able to go a lot of places on a 650.

Thanks so much
Any other bikes who would fall into the same category I could go and look at?

Or even the Suzuki Savage 650 if you want really low seat height. Or a Hyosung GV650 Aquila. A 650cc cruiser is a great idea to start out with.
