I got my 07 V-Star Custom on Cycle Trader last week. As a beginner, who is 6'1", 200#, I had to find a bike that could haul my sorry a$$ around in terms of actual size and power.jstark47 wrote:There will be more V-Stars if that one gets sold. My local (south Jersey) craigslist is pretty small, but there are four V-stars out there for sale right now! It's a popular bike.
The V-star does great, agile for avoiding potholes and cell phone yapping cage meat, has the low end power for acceleration onto the interstate, with enough power left over for a burst of speed to overtake as needed.
I haven't had any real looong hills to deal with (South Texas here, c'mon folks) but I'm real happy (duh) with the bike.
Here's a photo of me on the bike to get an idea of size. (Driveway, engine off = no gear, before anyone comments )
